ACU British Extreme Championship.

Heads of the Valleys. Rd.1. December 13-14th.

The stage is set for a real Christmas cracker at Walters Arena near Glynneath, South Wales. The venue will be the focus of attention for the extreme off-road community this coming weekend as the inaugural Heads of the Valleys extreme event kicks off the 2014-15 ACU British Extreme Enduro Championship.

Paul Edmondson and Nick Plumb have planned an extreme course to challenge the toughest of the tough but the need for speed will be a deciding factor also.

With current Champion David Knight heading in, fresh from his impressive Super Enduro outing indoors in Poland and Graham Jarvis making his way back to the UK from third place in the Roof of Africa it will be interesting to see who adjusts fastest to the cold weather and testing forest conditions of Wales. Add in a serious charge from local riders Ash Greedy and David Kip-Herring plus the ever-present challenges from Gary Daniels and Jack Edmondson will definitely make the Pro class a tough place to be. Throw in plenty of talented Expert riders, Clubmen, Veterans, Youth and Sportsmen and you have the recipe for a cracking event.

Two ultra-tough days of riding face the riders at the event with qualifying times on Saturday determining start positions on Sunday. Mega-fast forest roads and very tough extreme sections will test the full spectrum of skills of all riders and whoever wins, they will know they have been in a race and a half.

Each lap will take Clubman riders around two hours to complete with the chequered flag waving as soon as the first rider to complete three laps crosses the finish line.

Loosely based on the original extreme event, the Gilles Lalay Classic, Heads of the Valleys looks set to become a classic in its own rite as the only two-day extreme enduro in the UK.
