Steve Holcombe wins the Welsh 2 Day

Llandrindod Wells,
Mid Wales
23rd/24th June 2016

After earning a career first double overall World Championship winning result at the GP of Sweden, Steve Holcombe traveled to Llandrindod Wells, Mid Wales in good form to defend his 2015 Welsh 2 Day title.

Riding his British Championship factory Beta 300 Steve set the fastest time on the first test at Church Farm - 10 seconds ahead of David Knight and he went on to top the leader board on all 11 tests over the 2 days to record his 2nd Welsh win.

Steve Holcombe said "I really enjoyed this years W2D. The course was fantastic and it was awesome to be chasing Daryl, Ady and Jamie around the checks and having fun. It's been a serious last few weeks at the World championships and it's nice to be back in the UK after 6 weeks on the road and in a more relaxed race environment. We were lucky with the weather on day 1 and I was pleased to win every test and carry a lead into day 2 and then extend it throughout the day. I kept a comfortable pace throughout the race and kept within my limits to get my second W2D win. A big thank you to Steve Plain and Rob Sartin for looking after me throughout the Welsh and also to all involved with putting on the event. I plan to attend next year and hope to defend my title".

Steve will now be heading to Gordexola for World Championship GP of Spain on July 2/3.
