RAW Enduro Showdown at Driffield.
Rock Oil Round 10
Already the end of another successful season, RAW Enduro finish the Championship right where it started in March this year. Driffield Training area is an awesome 650 acre site which always attracts a large line up of competitors from the North of england. The course was graded by a 3 ton machine at the beginning of September to give it time to settle before any race activities. Clerk of the course Wayne Braybrook will once again mix things up by creating another fresh course to test all riders. Driffield is always a great starter event for newcomers to enduro, as well as providing great racing amongst the more experienced competitors.
Saturday will see a popular RAW Enduro Pay and Play day running from 9am to 3pm with no sessions, this day of non competitive riding allows riders to go on and off track as they please within the times permitted. A fully marked enduro track gives new riders a “feel” for enduro hare & hounds terrain.
Sunday morning will be kicked off by Youth riders at 8:30am in their very own 1.5 hour event. Then at 10:30am Sportsman, Sportsman Vets, Over 50, and Novice riders can battle it out for final championship points in their 2 hour multi lap event. After a short break at 13:15 The Expert, Expert Vets, Clubman and Clubman Vets will be on track for 2.5 hours to decide their final positions. The Quarry section, up to 8 blocks of woodland, a freshly graded kellythorpe woodland trail, plus lots of open going will make up what promises to be a belter of a final showdown race.
Camping is available from Saturday on a concrete hard standing paddock for up to 500 vehicles, this means no struggle to get on site even if it’s wet. The RAW shop will be stocking basic essentials to keep riders going, Colin Appleyard Motorcycles will be in attendance; catering and toilets will be on site throughout the event.
