ACU British Youth Championship Trial

The young guns will be out in force this weekend as the British Youth Trial takes place at Glyn Mil Farm in Wales on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th July.

The C&D classes will run on Saturday commencing at 11:00 with riders starting at one minute intervals. The A&B classes will run on Sunday at the same time but with the riders starting one and half minutes apart.

There is a strong field competing both days with 30 riders in the C&D classes and 45 in the A&B classes. A total of 12 sections await the riders who have to complete three laps to finish the event.

Due to the large venue the Merthyr Club has split the sections for the different classes. The C&D classes will compete on sections in Squirrel Woods at the bottom of the Farm. The harder sections in the quarry will be left for the A&B riders.

The riders to watch this weekend are the talented Jack Sheppard and Richard Saddler (providing his injured wrist holds up as he has only just had the cast removed so he may struggle for strength).

Local riders are also in the mix, with Jake Evans in the A Class and Jole Edward in the B class, hoping for lots of local support.

Glyn Mil Farm is sign posted off A4060 bypass road Merthyr Tydfil. For further information contact Kay on (01685) 350798 after 6pm or Blanche House, Dowlais, Merthyr Tydfil, CF48 3PD.
