TMX Grand Prix Great Britain - Round 8 FIM SPEA Trial World Championship 2007 Hawkstone Park 28/29 July 2007 L+M Events is delighted to announce details of its 2007 Mini Masters Trial that will take place as part of the TMX Grand Prix Great Britain, which will be held at Hawkstone Park over 28/29 July. Introduced for the first time last year, the Mini Masters Trial proved to be one of the highlights of what was a great weekend, as trials heroes from the past were reunited for a one off battle at the famous Shropshire venue. Following a similar format to 2006, the Mini Masters Trial will once again take place on Saturday afternoon and is reason alone for everyone to ensure that they are at Hawkstone Park for both days over the last weekend in July. More than three thousand fans turned out twelve months ago to watch ex World champion Marc Colomer and crowd favourite Amos Bilbao fight out what was a highly competitive, yet humour packed battle around a shortened course. Colomer showed that he had lost none of his magical technique, whilst Bilbao constantly acted the clown as he also notched up several cleans. Sportingly, although Bilbao won the final section shoot out the two old rivals shared the winner's champagne on stage, much to the delight of the appreciative audience who knew they had just witnessed something very special and unique. As per last year Colomer and Bilbao will be joined by Italian legend Donalto Miglio, Spanish supreme Joan Pons and Britain's very own vice World champion Steve Saunders. Saunders will be looking for revenge this time out, as last year he sacrificed his chance of victory for a piece of great nostalgia when he opted to ride a replica of his old works Honda in certain sections. Whilst the aging four stroke looked and sounded fantastic it was no match for the modern machinery being used by the other riders. Enjoying the whole atmosphere of the event Saunders really entered into the spirit of the occasion and even found time to take a swig of beer from a bottle passed to him by his minder as he balanced in one of the sections. Speaking about his forthcoming visit to Hawkstone Park, Colomer commented. "I am really happy to have been invited to ride again, as the competition last year was something very special, and something I enjoyed very much. The British public really appreciate trials, so it was great to ride in front of such a large crowd again. I just need to warn Amos, that it will not be so easy for him this year, as I have been practising so that I can take away his crown from him. But, I think all the riders will have been practising, so I think it will be a great trial." Saturday 28th July The TMX Grand Prix Great Britain will take place over two days once again, with the trial itself taking place throughout Sunday. The trade village, that will include some of the UK's biggest dealers, distributors and importers, will be open throughout Saturday and Sunday. For the first time ever entrance tickets can be bought online, with great discounts on advance bookings.
