Six Day Enduro 12th/17th November 2007 La Serena, Chile British Teams fly out of Heathrow to Chile
As the Optoma Loans Team GB/ACU International Six Day Enduro (ISDE) Team arrived at Heathrow on Friday 2nd November 2007 the ACU's Trials and Enduro Committee wished to express their best wishes to the Team, confident of an excellent result. Optoma Loans Team GB/ACU will be part of the 520 competitors, from 30 Countries taking part in the 82nd ISDE. The ISDE is known as the Olympics of Motorcycling and is one of the oldest Enduro events in the sport. Each rider will ride up to 280 Kilometres in seven hours each day over varied and rough terrain. With special arrangements made by both Air France and Heathrow Airport for the 52 strong party, 16 riders and 36 person strong Support Crew were greeted by Heathrow Terminal Manager, Graham Webb and who then wished them the very best of luck for the ISDE. The subsequent photographs organised for the large group caused a stir with the many visitors to the airport. In addition to Mr Webb, Andrew Seymour, Chairman of Optoma Loans, also visited Heathrow to wish the Team well. Mr Seymour, a very keen off-road motorcyclist, will also be flying out to Chile, to lend further support to the Team's daily performances. Although the Team are without the dominant David Knight, due to a clash with his commitments to KTM, the 2007 Optoma Loans Team GB/ACU riders have a wealth of both experience and youthful talent. The Optoma Loans Team GB/ACU World Trophy Team is; Paul Edmondson - 4 x World Champion, 7 x British Champion Chris Hockey Dylan Jones Edward Jones - 3 x British Champion Euan McConnell Tom Sager - 3rd 2007 World Junior Enduro Cup, 2007 British Enduro Champion, 2006 European Enduro Champion, Richard Hay - Reserve rider Optoma Loans Team GB/ACU Junior World Trophy (Under 23 years) Team is; Lee Edmondson Greg Evans - Runner Up 2007 European Enduro Champion Junior E1 Ollie Moyce Ashley Wood - 2006 British Expert Champion In addition to the World Trophy and World Junior Trophy Teams two ACU Club's have raised the finance to send Teams to compete in the Club Team Award section of the competition.
