Bracken Rocks Trials ground requires your help
Mansfield Maun Motorcycle Club requires the urgent help and assistance of Trials riders, marshals, officials, photographers and spectators from the past 50 years. The club have found themselves at odds with the local authority after the recent upgrading of toilet facilities on the site with the new portacabin based toilets. These replaced the old shed that was converted to a 'toilet block' until it virtually fell down. The Council's Planning Officers have amazingly issued an enforcement notice, offering the Mansfield Maun MCC two options - comply or appeal. If the Club complies, the toilet facilities are to be removed by the 12th June 2008! Obviously, the Club intends to appeal against the notice by putting a new planning application in by the 12th June 2008. However, to stand the best chance of success they need to provide proof that, in truth, all they have done is replaced the old 'unhealthy and hazardous' shed. Mansfield Maun MCC now require the support from those riders and
supporters who have used the site and its facilities over the Do you remember the old shed near the car park, which was fitted out as a rudimentary toilet block? If you remember this, or better still, if you have any photographs showing it, the Club needs a letter (and possibly an affidavit) from you as a matter of urgency, ideally before the 4th June 2008, saying when you used the site, whether you actually used the 'toilet shed' and what you remember about it's facilities! Please write with dates and details to Terry Crabtree at Hillcroft, New Mill Lane, Forest Town, Mansfield, Notts, NG19 0HH.
