CJ Riders Fund Cycle Race - Sunday 24th August 2008 - 7pm start www.cjnine.com
ALL SET FOR CADWELL CHAOS As part of the events of the ninth round of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship at Cadwell Park over the August Bank Holiday weekend. The third annual CJ Riders Fund Charity Cycle Race will take place on the evening of Sunday 24th August and already plans are at an advanced stage with a number of celebrity participants expected. Traditionally, all sorts of weird and wonderful contraptions are wheeled out for the four-lap epic around the picturesque one-mile Woodland circuit, with most taking part in fancy dress and as well as members of the BSB paddock, members of the public are encouraged to line up alongside the stars. Last year, such luminaries as 250cc GP rider Eugene Laverty, World Superbike rider Josh Brookes and TV commentator James Whitham took part along with many riders from the various British Championships and with just 300 places up for grabs, demand is sure to be high for the places. The event gets underway after official qualifying on the Sunday evening, at around 7pm and the entry fee is a MINIMUM donation of £20 to the CJ Fund whereby an official wrist band will be provided. Registration is available on Saturday and Sunday at the CJ Stand, on Saturday from 10am - 5pm at the Centurion Race Truck and from 2pm onwards on Sunday at the Paddock Portacabin the locations at Cadwell are as follows: 1 - 100 - At the MSVR Signing-on Portacabin in the Paddock 101 - 200 - Centurion Race Truck, in the Paddock 201 - 300 - At the CJ Fund Stand in the Spectator Enclosure Market Place (Mountain Bottom) In addition to trophies and champagne for the first three finishers, to be presented on the official BSB Podium, there will be other awards for 'Best Fancy Dress', 'Best Bike' and 'Spirit of the Race'.
