TWO WINS PLUS OVERALL WIN FOR MRS SHERCO
The fourth and fifth rounds of the British Sprint Championship took place near Shrewsbury, Shropshire last weekend on 1st and 2nd June.
It was a fantastic weekend overall for Sherco MRS riders, with Jack Edmondson riding his 3.0 SEF Factory Sherco winning overall on Saturday and Jed Etchells winning overall Sunday on his 3.0 SE Factory.
MRS rider Dan Mundell finished 2nd both days on his 2.5 SEF Factory Sherco which gave him the overall win for the weekend.
In the expert class MRS Sherco rider Ricky Wiggins was 5th on day one but had an excellent result Sunday finishing 3rd overall on Sunday. Harry Hilliers Rees was 7th on Saturday and improved on Sunday to 6th, he was first in E1/4 on Saturday and second on Sunday.
Dan Mundell - "I'm happy with P2 on Saturday at the British Sprint. A slow first test and a slip off possibly cost me the win but I'm going to keep building on that. Congratulations to Jack Edmondson for taking the win.
I was really pleased with Sunday winning 7 out 8 tests. A problem in test three cost me just under a minute but I managed to claw the time back and finish second again and take the overall win! P1 in E1 on both days! A huge thank you to Martin Rathmell, my family and all my sponsors for their support."
Jack Edmondson - "I started Saturday with a good first test that put me 8 seconds ahead of anyone else. In the 3rd test I had a fall and lost a lot of time but by the end of the day I had worked my way back up to the front ahead of my team-mate Dan Mundell to end with a win overall and grab my fourth straight win in the British Sprint this year.
Sunday was a bit tougher and my day ended fairly early one, I had a problem with the bike and therefore I was unable to complete a test. With the Sprint rules I was able to restart test three on my spare bike. I finished 7th and took some points for the Championship but it was just one of those days! It's a shame but these things can happy, it's racing. I can't thank MRS and Sherco enough for all their help and support."
Jed Etchells - "It was a very good and very bad weekend at the British Sprint this weekend. The test was a flat grass field, which is definitely one of my weak points! I finished 6th overall on Saturday but Sunday it was in reverse and a lot rougher which suited me better. With some luck I finished first overall on Sunday and finishing second overall for the weekend. Thanks to all my sponsors and Martin Rathmell for all the support and helping me."
