ACU British Enduro Championship Team Competition

2008 ACU British Enduro Championship Team Competition - Sponsored by Enduro News

The stage of the Dirt Bike Show was the ideal location for the presentation of the 2008 ACU British Enduro Championship Team trophies.

The competition was tremendously close again this season with only a single point separating the top 2 teams but the overall winner was the trade team from Rogershill Raceway of Simon Wakely, Bradley King, Derrick Edmondson & Danny Hall. Rogershill Raceway near Bere Regis - with it's 2 permanent full size tracks, 2 junior tracks & an enduro circuit across the 300 acres of land - meant the team had plenty of practice facilities although the season didn't go smoothly when Danny broke his arm & Derrick had to take his place.

The runners up & the Best Open were the Ecosse Elite team of Derek Little & Murray Thomson. They were spurred on - no doubt - by a little friendly rivalry with fellow Scots & last year's runners up Team Ecosse who finished 4th.

3rd place & Best Club went to the Mid Wales Trail Riders team of Tudor Davies, Rheinallt Davies, David Lloyd Jones.

On Saturday it was the turn of the Army when ISDE team manager Dusty Martin presented the Best Service Team trophy to REME Yamaha B represented by Lee Summerfield, Phil Cooper &Tony Cotty.

The ACU British Enduro Championship Team Competition allows Club, Trade, Open & Service teams to compete over the whole season for an award in their category & for an overall award. Points are allocated relative to the riders' finishing position within their class to level the playing field as well as encouraging top riders to work with promising newcomers. At the end of the season the teams with the lowest scores win. This year - to open the competition up to the widest possible participation - the organisers have proposed 2 rule changes. Firstly, teams can drop a round & secondly *teams can consist of 2 or 3 members. 

To enter a team in the 2009 season please complete the Registration Form

The rules are: 

• Teams must be complete a Registration Form There will be a single registration fee of £20 per team.

• The team members can be selected from any of the 4 classes (Championship, Expert, Clubman or Veteran).

• Team members must consent to ride for a team.

• Team members can be changed as long as the changes are confirmed before each round.

• Riders can represent more than one team.

• Each rider is awarded points equal to their overall finishing position in their class. *Three man teams will be allocated a score equal to the total number points. Two man teams will be allocated a score equal to the total number points divided by 2 & multiplied by 3.

• Riders failing to finish will be awarded a penalty score of 1 point higher than the highest score scored by a finisher in any class of that round.

• Riders will not be awarded points if they drop down a class in later rounds.

2007 ACU BEC Team Competition

After a intensely close battle that came down to the final race of the all season, MPS Racing won the 2007 BEC Team trophy from runners up Team Scotland by the narrowest of margins.

The ACU BEC Team Competition in 2007 raised £520 to help fund the British ISDE challenge in Chile. 

The winning team in each of the 4 classes receives a trophy engraved with the team member's names. The trophies were purchased out of sale of photos in the Summer - which also raised an additional £100 for the British Team.
