Rhayader Youth MXC

The Brookster Knows Best!!!

RYMXC held the Second Round of the BSMA Welsh Championships on Sunday 15th June 2008 at their new 'Neuadd' track near Pen-y-bont. The track is an old track which was raced on many years ago and thanks to the hard work of Mr Ray Collard it has now got some fantastic jumps and lots, lots more!! The weather was dry and very warm all day with riders having a great experience of riding the new track in great conditions!

The Autos were very keen to get out onto that huge track with Brooklyn 'The Brookster' Evans taking every start with ease and pulling away from the rest of the field straight away and absolutely destroying the jumps flying like a golden eagle. As usual Brookster had all his family supporting him and a very proud mum as he took home all three race wins! Ryan 'The Rocket' Rowlands had some unlucky starts but soon battled through to be a front runner as usual showing he carriers great speed and ability taking all second place wins and he was like superman over the jumps!! A well-deserved third overall went to Jamie 'Javelin' Evans who had a very strong ride and with an excellent start in the first race putting his big cousin 'The Brookster' to sweat! Well local rider Iwan Mills was a star yet again finishing in a very proud fifth position trying so hard and having some great battles with rest of the pack. Ben Evans and Harry Edmondson pushed each other to the limit while Cei Evans had a great third in the last race of the day, while unlucky Iwan Roberts landed badly in race one off the jump but did ride again in race three.

Juniors were out next with some very quick boys indeed! Birthday boy Luke Craig worked extremely hard out in front pushing himself all the way after battling with Kieron Cooke and Jack Edmondson all day taking home first overall with great determination! Finishing in second position was Kieron Cooke who always pushes the field to the limit taking two wins and travelling at great speed. Jack 'Fast Eddy' Edmondson had one second place and two third places taking great lines and showing a fantastic natural ability on his 65cc. Ever improving Alex 'Bubba' Walton had an excellent result finishing in fourth with three amazing starts and trying to hold off the top three for as long as he could. Wild Will Jones loved the new track and it showed as he finished in fifth overall after battling all day with the mid pack but came out on top! Only girl rider Adelaide Watkins had a very consistent ride and carried great speed and strength. Also never giving up and really enjoying the track was 'Cool Customer' Dylan Leach who was clearing the jumps with ease.

The top five in the Inter-85 small wheel were all very close with nobody giving up the fight! Ciran Williams worked hard all day to finish in first overall after taking all three race wins with amazing style, there is no one to touch him! But not too far away this time was Adam James (left) having his best result to date after riding out of his skin with a great display finishing in second overall after battling hard with Ben Nicholls, Joel Hughes and Hywel Mills all very close indeed! Ben had a brilliant second place in race two while Joel 'The Joker' had some excellent starts and was hungry for a good result! Hywel Mills had a well deserved third place in the first race and rode hard all day piling on the pressure all the time. Josh Ford and Dan Criag pushed each other to breaking point as they loved the track! Matthew Betinson and Matthew Rowlands also turned up the heat with some great lines.

Inter-Open class was very exciting to watch with positions changing all the time. Coming out on top was ever determined Aled Thomas (above) and it was good to see him back on his bike after an unlucky run at Moelfre. Aled had two first positions and a second but he didn't get it all his own way as 411 Ryan Thomas and 211 Adam Morris pushed him in every race with a good display for the spectators! All three riders really powering around the track and enjoying the jumps!! Luke Morgan had a good day finishing in fourth overall with a consistent ride trying hard to catch up with the top three. Billy Johnson finished in a very impressive fifth overall after battling with Daryl Prisk and Will Nicholls and Billy's dad was over the moon! Eillott Cockburn, Sam Newell, Lewis Jones and Ben Davies were all within reach of each other as they got used to riding the new fast flowing track but they handled it very well and were getting quicker every lap! Great girl power with riders Jody Anmer, Hannah Hope and Rhain George as all three set themselves a very high standard of racing! Well done to you girls keep it up!

There was a strong line up in the seniors and Dale Evans was the man who sorted it out, with an outstanding ride and nobody to touch him, oh boy was he quick! Dale took all three race wins at great speed, while Ryan Davies finished in a confident second with Dan Evans just two points behind in third both riding on the edge and giving the crowd something thing to cheer about! In the front pack was talented Nick Morris who had a brilliant third in the last race and challenging Nick were Liam Peryman and Tom 'Farter' Nicholls always on the watch to blow off round the track whenever possible taking the quick inside lines! Dean Plumstead upped his game and gained more confidence in each race trying to test Adam Kiel and Shaun Probert who also rode very well all finishing with a nice smile on their faces after a hard day! Elliott Friel was having a good day until his clutch decided to stick and wouldn't move, and was unable to continue to finish his last lap!

The experienced AMX riders were let out the gate last with Paul 'Fast Eddy' Edmondson showing the younger adults he's not to be messed with getting all three whole-shots and riding in a class of his own, even having time to wink and wave to the lap scorers as he went passed the shed, sending the girls wild!!!!! Finishing in second place was Sam Jones who really impressed the lap scorers (especially Mrs Hope) as he tried hard to catch Fast Eddy with shearer guts and determination! Luke Davies rode his heart out finishing in a well deserved third overall after battling with Cool Chris Morris who always pushes himself to the edge! Chris 'Wally' Walton took home fifth overall showing everyone there's life in the old boy yet!! Gerwyn Exon and Mark Evans had some really exciting battles both putting in a great days work and loving the new venue!

We hope everyone enjoyed riding the new track and look forward to seeing lots of riders at our next meeting which is on 6th July 2008. A big thank you to all Marshalls!

SLIPPERY TRACKS AT RHAYADER! - 25th May

Rhayader Youth Motocross Club held a Trophy meeting on Sunday 25th May 2008 at Moelfre track. With very wet conditions making the track very slippery indeed but the riders were certainly not deterred!

Sending out the AMX class first, with Multi World Enduro Champion Paul Edmondson on the gate (with his short legs) it was really exciting to watch! Fast Eddy took home the two wins of the day with great easy as his younger brother Stanley settled for two fantastic seconds as he took some very quick lines! Battling behind the front two were Gethin Price, Cool Chris Morris and local rider Jonathan Evans showing great speed and control, with Gethin pushing Stanley all the way in the second race. Wyn 'sexy' Hope had a strong second race after just getting the better of Andrew Little. Ever loyal Derry Knox who travels four hours to ride certainly deserved his medal and looked great in the wet as he pushed himself. With first time rider Ryan Jones having a good ride out on the tricky track!

The senior class was anybody's as positions changed constantly throughout the races! With awesome Rhys Jones taking two well deserved wins with such style and determination, being pushed all the way by Tom Nicholls who put in a real fight. Shaun Buchan loved the wet conditions as he took second in the first race, while Ryan Davies had a fantastic third! Jordan Eynon and Spencer Eve battled hard in both races putting in a great days work! Dean Plumstead showed great confidence with Julian Eckley and Shaun Probert pushed Dean in the second race.

The Inter-Open class had the largest line up with Luke Morgan coming out on top with a superb display in the difficult conditions taking a well deserved first position overall, after Ryan Waters pushed Luke all the way in the first race and took the chequered flag with an outstanding race! Will Nicholls and Adam Morris really enjoyed the track and never gave up after some amazing battles they both meant business!! Billy 'Bad Boy' Johnson came back to form with a good consistent ride taking a brilliant fifth place overall. The 'RYMXC' girls Hannah Hope and Jody Amner both rose to the challenge with a close finish while Shane Slatcher had strong first race.

Ciran Williams was the king in the Inter-85 small wheel class and proved he can ride in all conditions, with an absolutely incredible ride making it look effortless! Well, the Nicholls family were very strong in all classes as Ben Nicholls didn't hang around taking second overall, with local boy Hywel Mills putting on the pressure and pushing Ben to the limit finishing in a fantastic third and Josh Ford in a very strong fourth. Fifth overall went to ever improving Danny Morris who has great positioning on the bike and always works hard in every race. Kieron Watkins and Owen Jones had some good battles both having a good ride out on the slippery track.

The juniors were out next with Jack 'fast eddy' Edmondson in a class of his own taking the win of the day and loving the wet! With Alex 'bubba' Walton and Luke 'cool kid' Craig finishing on joint points, with bubba having a strong last race of the day taking second overall with cool kid Craig settling for a well deserved third place both showing great sportsmanship off the track. 'Birthday boy' Kieron Mills had his best result to date with a brilliant fourth and showed great confidence. Kieron battled hard with fast boy Huw Nicholls who pulled out all the stops with a great result! It was 'girl power' with Adelaide Watkins and Kyra Pickersgill showing the boys how it should be done!! Ever improving Callum Evans showed great courage and determination putting in a hard day's work, while Connor Friel had his first ever ride in the most testing conditions proving he doesn't give up easily with a brilliant effort.

It was difficult for the Autos in the conditions but that didn't stop the Brooklyn 'the brookster' Evans who gripped well to the track finishing in first overall. Dan Troughtan took home a good second place, with Hannah Pickersgill had a great third overall sorting out the boys! Ryan 'rocket' Rowlands found the conditions quite tricky finishing in fourth overall but never gave up. While Harry Edmondson proved he loves the mud taking a strong fifth position. Ieuan Roberts and Ben Evans battled it out with great style! Jamie 'the javlin' Evans and Iwan Mills put in great effort, all the autos pushing the boundaries and definitely keeping all mums and dads on their toes!!!

Thank you to all the riders, parents and especially the marshalls who all got soaked through!! But its good fun!! The lap scoring shed was nice and dry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fast Tracks At Saints Well!

RYMXC held the first round of the BSMA Welsh Championship at Saints Well track Nr Rhayader on Sunday 4th May 2008. It was a beautiful warm dry day with plenty of entertainment and serious racing on the new track!

With perfect track conditions the Autos were out of the gate first with the ever talented Brooklyn 'The Brookster' Evans hungry for the starts and Ryan 'Rocket' Rowlands piling on the pressure! 'The Rocket' riding better than ever on the fast track, he was very quick to follow 'The Brookster' in the first two races both showing great riding ability. Iwan Roberts had a fantastic third off the line in the last race of the day and held off Ben Evans and Jamie 'The Javelin' Evans for the whole race, showing them he means business! Ben and 'The Javelin' battled all day with some very strong riding, both getting a brilliant result! Declan Roden , Iwan Mills, Archie Collier and Elgan Daives putting on a real show and taking some very fast corners!

The crazy juniors seemed to love the fast track as they all shoot round like bullets! With Jordan Saunders getting two firsts and a unlucky fifth in the first race it was anybodies! Pushing Saunders all the way were Kieron Cooke and Luke Craig all three pulling away with some fantastic riding. Alex 'Bubba' Walton had some great starts and showed confidence. Behind the top four were some brilliant battles with Callum Crockett, Wild Will Jones and Connor Clewett. 'Wild Will' keeping his cool in second race with a much better start as Ieuan Morgan tried to reel him towards the end! Oh boys look out for Adelaide Watkins she's on fire, with Jac Rhys-Jones trying hard to pass in the third race -but oh no! With a superb first ride of the season was Mr Huw Nicholls letting everyone know he's back!

In an absolute class of his own was Ciran Williams in the Inter-85 with an incredible display of speed and control, flying round the track with a huge lead taking all three race wins. Ben Nicholls is back with style and his hard work paid off as he finished in second overall with outstanding riding. But the most exciting racing of the day was between Hywel Mills and Joel 'The Joker' Hughes wheel to wheel with some awesome lines testing each other to the limit! Everyone was on the edge of their seats in the second race as Joel pulled out all the stops to pass Hywel but unfortunately Joel crashed on the last lap, but what a display of shearer guts from both of them! Dan Craig upped his game in the second race taking second off the gate and holding off Hywel and Joel for three laps! Josh Ford took home a well deserved fifth place overall after battling with Adam James in the first race.

The Inter-open class was dominated by Kieron Malloy riding like a true champion working very hard out in front making sure he took all the quick lines. There was unbelievable pressure between Aled Thomas and Adam Morris out on the track, both wanting that second place position. Aled just held onto second overall by two points while Adam got a fantastic third. The drier conditions always suite Jody Amner as she certainly proved to everyone by an outstanding forth position and big smile, after having a brilliant battle with Will Nicholls in race two! It was good to have Will Nicholls back on board with a consistent ride. Daryl Prisk upped his game in third race of the day taking fourth at the chequered flag. Hannah Hope and Ryan Evans had a very close finish in race three while Sam Newell and Jamie Webb fought hard!

Super big line up in the seniors with some super-stars! Matthew Thomas took the win on the day with two firsts and a second, but not making it easy for Matthew was Matt Burrows taking a first position in the second race it was awesome to watch as Ryan James joined in as well! Tim Burrows finished in a very healthy fourth overall while Daniel Evans took fifth both having an excellent day. Julian Eckley and Luke Lucas had a great battle in race two with Luke just getting the better of Julian at the finish line!

Well the RYMXC 'Angel' did it yet again in the AMX! Charlie 'Angel' Evans showed complete ability on his bike cornering like he was on two wheels (HA HA)!! Angel sorted out Cool Chris Morris in all three races as Cool Chris had some amazing starts and didn't make it easy for anyone with two seconds and a third! Third position was taken by the ever fast Daniel Rees who gave Cool Chris a run for his money in race 1, Luke Davies battled with Chris Walton and Jonathan Evans soon sorting the oldies out!! In a superb fifth was Wayne Price who looked like he loved it! Both Kevin Hughes and Wyn 'sexy' Hope were on the top of their game as they pushed each other all the way!

Magnetic Moelfre rides well!

RYMXC held the Fourth Round at everyone's favourite track Moelfre near Rhayader on Sunday 20th April '08. With a low mist most of the day there was never a dull moment and the dryer weather brought out the spectators in force!

Rob Hughes loosed out the mean Auto machines first with Ryan 'Fast Boy' Rowlands just taking the whole-shot from the Brookster in the first race, but not for long 'Brooklyn 'The Brookster' Evans wasn't having any of it and soon took back the lead on the second corner with 'Fast Boy' Rowlands riding on the edge and pushing the whole race! 'The Brookster' took home the triple win of the day with Ryan finishing in a very strong second. There was great action behind the front runners with ever improving Ben Evans and Harry Edmondson battling it out for points, with Jamie 'The Javelin' Evans hot on their tails taking a third in the second race and only girl rider Abbey Thomas taking some very smooth lines. Iwan 'lobe lo' Mills had a fantastic third off the line in the second race and battled with Abbey who just took the chequered flag both having a great day! Declan Roden put in a good days riding showing great ability and determination.

The line up in the juniors was extremely hot and very intense!! Jordan Saunders rode with a style of his own taking home three wins and with great determination was Kieron 'Cookie' Cooke who had a fourth, second and a third place. Having a bit of bad luck on the day was Jack 'Fast Eddy' Edmondson after taking the whole-shot in the third race, his bike stopped on a corner and it took him a while to get it going again but he showed everyone he never gives up and battled on!! Making it very difficult for all riders at the start was Alex 'Bubba' Walton proving to everyone his ability on the KTM 65cc taking third in the first race. Always battling with Bubba is Daniel 'Dynamic' Earle who pulled out all the stops with a very consistent days work! Wild Will Jones as usual put on a great display for the crowd battling closely with Ben Davis-Jarman who is getting quicker and quicker! Connor Clewett and Ieuan Morgan rode out of their skin being pushed by Kieron Mills who always delivers!

Alistair Evans had the win of the day with two first positions and one fourth in the Inter-85 group, with a huge lead in the second race he was absolutely flying and cornering the ease. With two seconds and a third was Ciran Williams with a supberb display of how to do ride your bike and a very excited dad watching! Battling with Ciran in the second race was Ben Nicholls, Jon Hunt and Joel 'The Joker' Hughes who got the whole-shot. Ben took home third overall, Jon Hunt Fourth after having the win in the first race and the cool, calm Joker in fifth. Once again Hywel Mills rode well on home ground with Adam James trying hard to pass him in the last race of the day but Millsy holding out to the chequered flag! It was great to see Josh Ford back on his bike after being injured and he proved he's up for it with a comfortable ride.

Aled Thomas was so unlucky in the Inter-Open group after having the first two wins of the day and riding in a class of his own, Aled had bike problems in last race and had to retire and was extremely disappointed! But it was very lucky for Luke Evans who had two seconds positions and the win in the last race after riding very, very well! Daryl Prisk had a fantastic day and was back on form with such concentration on his face he tested Luke all the way in the second race never giving up! Daniel Griffiths finished in third overall after pushing hard to catch Rory Crisp in the second race, with Rory ending up taking home fourth. Battling with Rory in the third race was John Magilgan who had a DNF in the first race! Lady rider Jody Amner seamed to like the slippery conditions and fort it out with Ben Francis in race two both having a great ride. Jody finished in a very strong fifth overall. Lewis Jones and Sam Newell had a fantastic battle in the second race pushing each other to the limit Lewis just taking the chequered flag!

With a massive line up in the seniors and some very talented riders and awesome battles it was very exciting for the crowd! Joe Price was putting on a great display as usual and took the first two wins but in the third race he had bike problems and did not finish which was so unlucky for Joe and had to settle for tenth position! With an outstanding consistent ride from Matthew Thomas who delivered three seconds places and closed the gap on Joe in the second, took home the win of the day! With a bad start in race two Myles Baldwin (number 90) pushed himself to the limit by passing the flag in an amazing third place and a very well deserved second overall, with easy on the eye Rhys Jones taking another pleasing result. Tom Nicholls with a brilliant and proud fourth overall after Ryan Davies and Richard Rees pushing all day! Ryan James and Gareth Hughes had a very dramatic finish in the third race. Elliott Freil rode very well, using his head and taking some positive lines.

Well, what can I say everyone enjoyed the adult racing with Dirty Derek Watkins, Cool Chris Morris and Charlie 'Angels' Evans being the top three. Derek took two wins and a third place, while Cool Chris and oh boy it didn't take him long to get his form back (life in the old boy yet) had two seconds and one third with our favourite Angel finishing in third overall after injuring his hand, but pulling out all the stops with some great lines. Jonathan 'Pastrana' Evans and Wyn 'Sexy' Hope had some outstanding battles in the last race, with Jonathan finishing in fourth overall and Luke Davies having a brilliant day in fifth overall. Chris 'Cubby' Price, Adam Rees and Marc Evans all very fast!

RYMXC would like to thank all Marshalls. Report By Hayley Walton

Ben & Brooklyn Get The Triple At Rhayader!

RYMXC held the Third Club Championship Round at Cymithig track, Rhayader on Sunday 6th April `08. Turning up to two inches of snow on the ground the Committee were uncertain to run the event. Then with a change in the weather the sun appeared changing the racing conditions to the best yet and perfect track conditions all day, with a heavy hail storm in the last race.

The Adults were out on the fast track first with Charlie `Angels` Evans (left) and Lee `Stanley` Edmundson pushing each other to the limit and practically wheel too wheel! It was nail-biting stuff all day with Charlie taking two well-deserved wins, but Stanley just taking the chequered flag in the last race with a great handshake from the Charlie at the end! It was a very close call for the rest of the field, with positions changing every race! Chris Morris was back on form taking thrid and battling with him were riders Tim Foreman, Luke Davies and Wyn Hope, with Criag Malloy and Chris ` Cubby` Price in reach of them all!

Seniors hit the starting gate next and a bad pile up at the first corner which took out four riders stopping the racing with unlucky Tom Northcote taking the brunt of it! After restarting they were back on track with winner Rhys Jones just coming out on top against rider Ryan James and Daniel Evans who were both awesome, all giving their best! In the second race Ryan Davies took home second position with Shaun `Fast Buc` Buchan battling it out with Ryan James and Daniel with `Fast Buc` taking an excellent third place! It was great to see Tom Nicholls back in the saddle for the first time this season and he took a brilliant fourth place in the first race.

The Inter-Open class was very exciting too watch with Aled Thomas taking pole position with one win and two second places. Aled battled with riders Adam Morris who had the win in the first race finishing second overall and Rory Crisp finishing in third overall. Kieron Mulloy had the win in the second race and took home a well deserved fourth place overall with Ben Francis having a great day in fifth. Ever improving local riders Ryan Evans and Shane Slatcher had a fantastic day and lady riders Hannah Hope, Rhain George and Jody Anmer were all very close!

Some outstanding racing was shown off in the Inter-85 class and oh-boy what a result for young Ben Nicholls! With his first ride on his bike this season Ben took all three race wins of the day riding in a class of his own! Adam Evans rode out of his skin taking all second place positions. But the battle of the day was between local rider Hywel Mills and Joel `The Joker` Hughes they pushed each other to the edge! After some intense riding Hywel beat Joel by just two points to finish in third overall and Joel settling for fourth. The one to look out for is rider Danny Morris who had is best result to date finishing in fifth and is getting quicker and quicker! Danny battled with Adam `ET` James and behind them were Matthew Northcote and Kieron Watkins both were very strong and having his first ever ride was Matthew Betinson who did really well.

The wild Juniors were let out on a different track to normal with some very close starts off the gate the spectators never knew who would get the `hole-shot`! Jack `Fast Eddy` Edmondson finished in first position overall with yet another great display of style, but not making it easy for Jack was Callum Crockett who took first in the second race. Daniel Earle and local rider Alex `Bubba` Walton battled it out ending up on joint points but Daniel took second overall after Alex had a bad crash with Callum in the last race of the day. Local rider Wild Will Jones had another great day finishing in fourth after a bad fall at the start in the second race. Charlie Price took a well deserved fifth overall after having a great battle with Alex in the last race!

Well, is there any stopping Brooklyn `The Brookster` Evans? Getting every `hole-shot` and winning all three races yet again with another great display for everyone to watch finishing in first position overall, with Ryan Rowlands hot on his tail taking all three second places of the day riding better than ever! Battling it out all day shoulder to shoulder were Harry Edmundson and Ben Evans both having their best ride yet. Harry finished in third overall after Ben had a very bad crash in the last race and did not finish! The Brookster's younger cousin Jamie "javelin" Evans kept it in the family by finishing in fourth overall with a very consistent ride and Iwan Mills took a very good fifth and Alfie Roberts in sixth.

RYMXC would like to thank all marshalls and riders.
