Round 2 Church Farm Hare & Hounds - 15th June 2008 Report by Wayne James Glorious sunshine greeted the riders for Round 2 of "The Builth Wells Hare and Hounds series 2008" at Church Farm, Crossgates, just outside Llandrindod Wells. A superb track just over 3 miles had been set out by the club. The track had everything, and even though there had not been any rain in this part of Mid Wales for over a week, the course was still very wet in places and would prove a challenge to even the expert riders.
Dyfed Dirt Bike club held there annual evening hare + hound motorbike race in Alltymynydd, Llanybydder on June 11th. There were over 45 riders at the race and they were in for a tough 2hour race due to the track being slippery from the constant drizzle just as the race got underway. Tudur Davies (only expert) was the favourite to win and he didn’t disappoint as he came home first over the finish line having completed 9 laps. Paul Davies finished second and he was the first veteran home also on 9 laps. Chris "the snipe" Larkin finished third also first clubman home on 9 laps. Chris is strongly expected to move on up to the experts class as he has constantly finished in the top three every event he has entered lately and doesn’t want to be tarnished a trophy hunter like some people in the club The second clubman was Gareth Lloyd on 9 laps, third was John Stobbs on 9 laps. The second veteran was Jason Rees on 9 laps followed by Graham Birkett who completed 8 laps. The first of the sportsman was Michael Williams on 8 laps, second was Julian James on 8 laps and third was Calvert Jones finishing 8 seconds short of the second place rider Myles Rosser coc was glad that everybody enjoyed themselves and wishes Eirwyn George a speedy recovery with his broken hand. Also the club would like to thank Mid Wales Dirt Track for the use of their fabulous transponder system which worked a BRILLIANTLY. Within 5 minutes of the last rider crossing the finishing line the results were out. The club found that the system was the best timing equipment they have used and look forward to using it again soon.

Following a last minute non-event in 2007, local Enduro 'has beens' Brian McCleary, Andrew McConnell and Alan Murray once again set out an Enduro as only they know how. This year, unlike last, the weather leading up to the Scottish Borders Enduro Club's event was exceptional for the time of year. The Forest was even dusty in places, a rarity for Galloway. The Patrick's, Rosie and Jimmy, took the entries up to the limit of 100 riders and with no points counting for the Sportsman class, the event was advertised as a 'Tough Forest Enduro'. Full report
