Round 3 of the Southern Counties Enduro Championship took place on Sunday 22nd at the Rogershill Raceway complex in Dorset. The event was dedicated to Lee Wheatley who tragically lost his life in a recent motorcycle accident. Lee was an avid supporter and competitor at the SCEC events and his many racing friends contributed towards the purchase of a magnificent trophy in his memory, which would be awarded to the best expert. "Lincoln tops the Quarry men" Race Report by G.Turner. Pics by WOR Events. "WOR Events used one of the "aces up their sleeve" last Sunday in the fantastic Nantmawr Quarry venue in Shropshire. Heavy rain on the Saturday turned the race experience day into a challenge to say the least but with dry sky's and howling winds acting like a huge hair drier on the Sunday, the TBM XC rd3 ran with military precision and the riders were once again shaking the clerk of the courses' hand come the end of the two races. Other News HARRY WINS HACKING MEMORIAL On Sunday the 22nd of June was Rideffroads first running of the Doug Hacking Memorial Hare and Hounds Enduro at Abram Motopark, Wigan. After a week spent building a new course from the one used in March with additions of new areas. It was going to be a clean sheet of paper for everyone. Much to the Rideoffroad's teams relief after weeks of dry weather on Saturday the rains came ensuring Sundays track was perfect and the possible dangers of a dust bowl were long gone. Full report
Jason Thomas celebrated his return to GNCC Racing with an impressive win in the XC2 Lites class at Round 8 of the series. Competing against many of the Worlds fastest Off-Road riders on his ELKA-KTM XC250F,he finished 8th overall at the Elka Yadkin Valley Stomp,held in Yadkinville, North Carolina, U.S.A. The Rider was assisted in the Pits by the other half of 'BadBoys Inc', Mr Ricky 'Nightmair' Mair, who is currently in the United States helping Jason with his mental preparation for these grueling events. Later this week the pair will return to Canada, where Jason will be taking part in Round 3 of the Quebec Provincial Cross-Country Championships, being held near Montreal. Jason would like to say a big 'Thank you' to all the people who have been helping him since he returned to America, particularly Tim Taber at Funmart Cycle Center, Everyone at KTM & ELKA,&, of course, Ricky Mair, for being his bestest friend. Round two of the 2008 Welsh Open Motocross championships sponsored by P.A.R.Homes and Bache's Bargains got off to a slightly dryer start than the opening round had some weeks earlier. The forecast for rain proved right however later in the evening and this no doubt had some effect in keeping a large percentage of the usual crowd away, still it was another good assembly of 1,000 spectators that saw the three blocks of action take place at Cwmythig hill, near Rhayader Full report - Results - Standings after 2nd Round
