Something in Common

KORR Team mates Daryl Bolter and James Giddings finished 1st and 2nd overall in the Army's 3 Hour cross-country race at Slab Common.

Daryl had been invited down to help the REME team with their popular training schools on the Friday and Saturday, Greg was away skiing in France but Daryl and James enjoyed 2 days training in conditions very similar to the up coming first round of the BEC later this month.

The Tank training grounds of Slab Common are excellent for pre season training, the sandy conditions are an ideal challenge to prove rider fitness and machine reliability and a great opportunity for the KORR Team to fine tune some settings on the bikes.

The REME Team prepared a superb cross country course for Sunday's race which held up great despite allot of recent rain. To add an interesting end to each lap, just before lap scoring riders had the choice of a very well constructed extreme section or the option to take a much longer chicken run.

Daryl didn't get the hole-shot, but was 2nd away and quickly moved into the lead and was never challenged all day, under no pressure he used the event to get familiar with his new Premier Bikes KTM and test new engine and suspension settings.

Naturally Daryl made light work of the extreme section and just floated over the tyres and logs but less experienced riders entertained the spectators with their enthusiasm to throw their bikes over the obstacles and some should definatly consider booking on the next training school !!!

James who is improving week by week with guidance from Daryl put in a great ride to take the runner up position, but he didn't have it all his own way as he had to battle with Guy Chandler also KTM mounted to earn his 2nd place, only getting the better of Guy in the last 2 laps.

A big thanks to all of the REME Team for inviting us down and putting on a great event and excellent training schools.
