Craig Bounds |
|
I, Wayne Golding and all his regular riding mates, Tiley, Ryan, Caz, Mark and Gareth would like to say a massive well done to Craig on achieving what he has over the last two weeks. He started the rally with a cracked sternum and chest injuries but still got to the finish. We're all really proud of him and can't wait to welcome him home. He's the first welshman to attempt the Dakar and anyone who watched it on tv will agree that getting to the finish is a result in itself. Craig managed 54th but would have been 32nd had it not been for a technical error resulting in a 4 hour penalty. Well Done Craig, I feel a party coming on.

Craig Bounds took on the xchallenge of tackling something considerably bigger than his usual yz250 in this year's Baja GB. Craig was riding in the 3rd round of the 2007 FIA International Cup of Cross Country Bajas on a BMW 650 XChallenge sponsored by Clarks BMW Bikes of Birmingham . Competing against some of the country's most experienced enduro/rally rider, he did extremely well to finish on the podium in 3rd overall. 35 year old Craig from Edwardsville works for Bob Wildings motorcycles in Merthyr Tydfil. He has been riding at the top level in enduros for over 15 years & he is currently in great form with a 4th overall Expert finish in the Crychan British Enduro Championship round on the previous weekend. "Riding the BMW was a great experience. It has given me a real boost towards my ultimate aim of riding in the Dakar. I would like to thank Daniel of Clarks BMW Bikes & Nick Plumb of Touratech for all their help " Photo: Dickon Siddall |
