Jon Hinam has won both days of the Track N Trail Welsh 2 Day at Jeff Miles Motoparc, Mynnydd Islwyn, South Wales. Jon from Barry is currently leading the BEC E1 Experts championship. Mike Grounds of TNT camped out all week to lay out the 7 mile course with it's combination of Mx, rocky sections & open going. Saturday's weather was clear & warm. The youth race was in the morning. The 2.5hr Adult race after lunch was close when Jon blew his carb & Derry Milling took the lead. Derry ran out of petrol on the last lap & Jon took the win. On Saturday evening TNT organised a hillclimb. The hill was graded from 1 to 10. 10 riders scored 9. Local rider Tom Smith won the King of the Hill by being one of the handful of riders to reach the top & setting the fastest time. Sunday's weather was cooler & overcast. The adults race in the morning was delayed half an hour while the course was reversed. Jon took the hole shot & extended his lead by the end of the first lap. The double jump on the MX test was cut for safety. By lap 3 Derek Bawn had taken the lead. Derek won last year's Enduro News H&H at Mynnydd Islwyn. By the halfway mark Jon had re-taken the lead which he held to win from Derek by a 4 minute margin. Both riders completed 12 laps.
