Battle of Vikings

Kilsbergens Motorklubb & Karlskoga Enduroklubb extends an invitation to the 5th edition of the extreme enduro competition Battle of Vikings which is the third race of the FIM European Extreme Enduro Cup.

The Battle takes place in Örebro’s Alpine Center, Storstenshöjden, the 25th & 26th of July.

Previous winners Joakim Ljunggren & Johan Edlund will have a hard time repeating performances from the earlier years now when the competition is a part of the European Extreme Enduro Cup, the question now is which riders can’t resist to enter Battle of Vikings. 2013 Runner up & and international Extreme Enduro rider Lars Enöckl will try come back hungry for more trophies. Extreme Enduro star Paul Bolton will also join the challenge to become the winner of Battle of Vikings.

Facts, 2014 Battle of Vikings European Extreme Enduro Cup
Race starts Friday afternoon with a prologue which will decide the starting order on Saturdays main event.
Prologue takes places on a shorter and faster track in intense heats with around 20 riders in each heat.
In the Main Event on Saturday, the riders are released in intervals to the long extreme enduro course, with the winner of the prologue starting first. The track takes the rider through tough natural sections in the forests, technically difficult man made obstacles and challenging up hills and descents in Storstenshöjdens slopes.
The race is not only very challenging for the riders, but also extremely entertaining for the spectators who can follow the race very close, and are updated on the race progress through our speaker and live-timing screens.

Battle of Vikings Extreme Trail Run
When the Extreme Enduro competition, Battle of Vikings, is held for the 5th year an addition is made in the form of a running competion. The last 4 years extreme enduro riders from all over Europe have been challenged by the race course in Kilsbergen. The 25th of June an Extreme Trail Run will add to that challenge a unique kind of terrain running. A kind of Arena Trail with the spectators close by.

The same track the riders ride, the runners will run. Battle of Vikings, Extreme Enduro, has become a huge success for Kilsbergens MK, enticing hundreds of riders and thousands of spectators to come to Ånnaboda close by Örebro. The 25th & 26th of July is the time again for the race, but this time there is also the possibility to run this extreme course set in the skiing slopes of Storstenshöjden.

There are lot of similarities between the riders and the runners. The foremost is the need for a physical challenge that will test you to an extreme. This is the hottest thing right now, and there is a lot of people tough enough to push their limits to the extreme. Hopefully, the running event will tempt international runners the same way the Extreme Enduro race has a lot of strong international riders on the starting line.
