European
success for ACU Academy riders
ACU Academy riders Ryan Houghton and Josh Waterman had a very successful outing at Bielstein in Germany for the fifth round of the ADAC Motocross European Championship. Houghton raced his KTM in the EMX 85cc class and Josh Waterman, the current ACU Maxxis MXY2 Championship leader, took part in the EMX 2 Junior class also aboard a KTM. Both riders qualified in the top ten for the high level event which was an impressive start and proved that they weren’t fazed by the European competition. Houghton went on to claim fourth place in race one and sixth in race two despite having suffered a puncture. He battled until the end of the race to hold his second top ten finish of the day. His determination saw him take fourth place overall on the day. Waterman was also on blistering form and he managed to step on the podium taking a third in the first race and a second place in the second race. These two superb results saw him awarded third place overall and set the fastest lap. Roy Barton, ACU Academy organizer said: “Both our ACU Academy riders put in the best performances possible on the day. They gave a good account of themselves and should be very proud of what they have achieved. I am thrilled with the results and I hope that the boys are able to put everything they have learned this weekend into their next event.” For further information on the ACU Academy please contact Roy Barton on 01788566400 or email roy@acu.org.uk. |
