BRITISH CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIP

The ACU Trials & Enduro Committee have received numerous requests of late to formulate a British Championship Cross Country series.

There are many events being organised at present and there is a view that a valid Championship needs to be arranged.

Several options are being considered - one of which is to allow existing ACU Centres, Clubs and Recognised Promotes to organise a number of " heats or qualifiers" at their existing venues, where riders could score points towards the Championship.

Riders could ride in as many or as few heats as they wished at various venues and could score points. Riders could then carry their best scores, from a given number of rounds, to the British Cross Country Championship Final where there would be a weighting e.g "double points" scored on the day and the rider's final total counted toward the Championship.

There are a lot of details still to be worked out and there are other options also being considered.
