Victory for Phillips

Glen Phillips raced to a convincing victory at Morizes in France at the weekend to pick up his first World Long Track Grand Prix win.

The large French crowd buoyed up the riders as they took to the track. Phillips qualified strongly for the first semi final and won that comfortably. This put him in a strong position for the final.

The two French men, Matthieu Tresarrieu and Stephane Tresarrieu were both pushing hard as was the current World Champion Gerd Riss, but Phillips dug deep and pulled off a superb win.

Phillips is currently fourth in the overall standings so he will be going all out at the final round at Vechta in Germany to try and improve on that and to take another podium. Fellow British riders Richard Hall and Andrew Appleton will also be looking to improve their positions.

The final round will take place at Vechta on the 12th September.
