Dabill
podium at Sheffield
James Dabill, Team JSTGG No.1 Rider has just achieved a fantastic and personal best 3rd place and ‘on the podium’ at the first round of the 2010 World Indoor Trials Championship at the infamous Sheffield Arena. Toni Bou won, Albert Cabestany 2nd DABILL 3rd,Adam Raga 4th, Fajardo 5th, Dougie 6th, Fuji 7th, Browny 8th, Wiggy 9th and Gubian 10th. The event was successfully organised by Avondale Management but ran under the new FIM World indoor format/rules which were very confusing for all concerned. Whatever my and your opinion is on the format, Dibs was 3rd so im happy! Regarding the format, im personally tired of talking and discussing about rules in Trials so i’m not going to comment any further. Dibs looked fit and confident before the event, but still nervous as was everyone else. He has spent time before Christmas in Spain and this has helped. He was just concerned that he hadn’t ridden for a week before Sheffield because of the weather. I’m sure Doug, Wiggy and Browny felt the same. Dibs fived his first section which I think settled the nerves when he didn’t quite give it enough on the PJ1 bottles. He finished the Qualifying session in 6th place with 9 marks lost. By the time the races and the final knockout stages were done Dibs was in the final 4 and he battled with the No.1 Factory GG Rider Adam Raga. In the end Dibs just edged his team mate out to take the final podium position! James and all concerned were naturally very pleased with his result and i was personally pleased by his general attitude, fitness and level of riding on the night. He looked as good as anyone out there with the exception of Toni who really was in his own class. James will not let this fantastic result go to his head and will continue with his Winter Training program. He still has a lot of work to do before the BTC starts in March and the WTC in April. He sets off to Spain again today to escape the UK weather and to continue with his training.. Thanks to Kev, isma and Jack. Thanks to Trialmag for pic. Best regards Shirty
