Drysdale Motorcycles KTM and Husaberg Test day at Lochhouses

Tommy Drysdale of Drysdale Motorcycles organised a test day at Lochhouses on Sunday the 31st January in association with the Melville Motor Club. The KTM truck arrived loaded with all the latest KTM Enduro machines with a brace of Husabergs to give 90 riders the chance to try them out in real enduro conditions throughout the day.

The Melville Motor Club team set out a seven minute track with a mixture of the sandy motocross track and added the tight woods with ruts bumps and tight turns. The conditions were perfect once again although it was a little icy at the start. As the day progressed the track scrubbed up well and everyone enjoyed the experience. Special guest on the day was Scottish Moto GP Legend Niall Mackenzie who also had the pick of the bikes on the day. Niall was impressed with his first visit to Lochhouses and let's hope he will come back to give a race try at one of the brilliant events over the winter.

The Melville regulars were on hand to help any riders who struggled in the tight going. Murray Thompson led the riders early on showing them the route, Ricky Mair and the Moto One team used the track time to limber up for the start of the season. Tommy Drysdale himself was a regular on the two lap runs around the circuit and Alan Drysdale hit a tree and cut his arm although he was more upset about the tear to his new exclusive Fox gear and the broken visor on his helmet.

The day was a great success and hopefully it will lead to more sales for Drysdale Motorcycles the Perth Motocross dealer.

The next event at Lochhouses is a round of the Scottish Hare and Hound Championship on the 7th February, yes, that is next weekend! Entries are still available with 3 hours for the Enduro Championship classes and two hours for the separate Motocross class that only skirts around the edge of the woods and does not count towards the Championship.
