Liam Garbett leads Le Touquet

Current Wyre forest off road Champion Liam Garbett "Got the Holeshot" in the 1st youth race at Le Touquet on the weekend. Unfortunately he dropped the bike on the 2nd lap and the 4 stroke wouldn't start. Liam lost about 10 minutes and - with only 4km lap - he soon dropped to last place. The KTM finally fired up & once started it didn’t miss a beat after that. He pushed hard from the back to manage to finish 31st overall out of 96 starters & 14th in the 250cc 4 stroke class. Liam had to pit stop twice in the 1.5hrs race & he managed to use over 7 ltrs of fuel in 30 mins. Overall Liam & his team were very pleased with the result as it is the 1st time he has ridden in sand that soft and it certainly makes Weston look easy

Thanks to ET James on a sponsorship deal & Golden Tyre who gave him the tsunami sand tyres for the race which were fantastic. Golden Tyres will be supplying Liam with all his tyres for the British Youth Enduro Championship, The AMCA Rock Oil British Hare & Hounds Championship & the GBXC.

An hour after the Youth race Liam then teamed up with Geoff Hand Jnr to race in the Adult 3hr quad race on a MKN Rocketman Suzuki quad where they managed to finish 81st overall out of nearly 500 teams whish isn’t bad for a completely standard machine apart from the very kind loan of some sand tyres from the Ameelie Miller/Jaks Quads race team.

Goeff Hand commented that it was one of the hardest races he has done and Liam was to tired to comment….

Well done to all the British entrants that is one hell of a Beach racs
