Metzeler British Enduro Championship Returns to
Scotland Easter Weekend
The first time the British Enduro Championship was held in Elgin David Knight described it as one of the best Enduros he had ever ridden, Two years ago in the cold with some snow blizzards it was one of the toughest. As part of the Scottish Championship it has been so warm and dry that the bikes were as clean at the finish as they were at the start. This event is held over Easter weekend 3rd and 4th April to give everybody plenty of time to make the journey with the Monday holiday for the return trip. This year the event is going to centre around Lossie Forest with a short road trip down to Woodside Motocross track for the motocross test. The atmosphere at Woodside with all the spectators is electric with Ricky Mair always up for some show boating. Ricky will be keen to rise to the top of the leader board at his home track where he has a point to prove. The Enduro test is long and runs through the woods and onto the dunes of death, a long energy sapping set of dunes that whoop out as the day progresses. Part of the going in Lossie forest is called the sea of stones with wave upon wave of deep pebbles where you need to keep your wits about you. Johnny Little and his team set out the course and try to make sure all who make the trip have a good weekend and have An excellent chance of finishing. Multiple Scottish Champion Derek Little sets the time schedule that guarantees the top riders will have to be 'on it' through the tight checks as he has knows the pace and the forest intimately. This is a very popular venue and many Scottish riders are disappointed to give it up for the British round, the Scottish Championship's loss is the British gain. Don't miss out on this unique event.
