Cheesy Smiles For All
Report by Jimmy Witts
Tuesdays Inclusive Trials Series - Round 1 - 18th May Round 1 welcomed a fine entry of forty five. With the fine weather it was decided to go with seven sections over four laps. Section 1 was through a couple of tight turns over logs set in a sticky bog. Section 2 used a tricky rock step then up over tree routes and descending back to the stream .Section 3 took a few marks where riders had to negotiate nasty tree routes .Section 4 required plenty of speed and aggression to get up the steep bank before the equally steep decent .Section 5 followed the winding stream over the slippery rocks .Section 6 was up the stream then a tricky five meter accent onto the top of the bank. Section seven this gave plenty of arm pump as this was a long ride up over the rocks before a tight left climb to finish the lap. as the score cards were returned so the "only if" tales started to filter through. With no excuses in his bag it was Martin Jones who returned a fine score of just five marks dropped, he was followed by Dai Bedford, Peter Lewis and schoolboy Fred Adams all returning scores under twenty. an interesting addition to the entry were local/ national motocross and enduro aces Jamie Lewis, Brett Hillman and Greg Evans showing to be more than capable trials riders whilst negotiating the sections "flat out". The schoolboy sportsman was closely fought with Bob Adams just one mark less than Jackson Elder. The sportsman riders enjoyed the four lap challenge to be completed in two hours, Gareth Harris was the winner on nine marks followed by an old Caerphilly club enduro rider Neil Tilke on 11 marks. The over forty's/fifties class was a tie break with Dai Jenkins getting the nod on furthest cleans leaving "old campaigner" Wayne Lewis with that "only if I hadn't had that five" story. Points have been awarded towards series ,look forward to round 2,different sections. thanks to all observers and land owner.
