Observed 2

Three decades of FIM Trial World Championship images by Eric Kitchen

Fresh from announcing Kick Start – The Return, L+M Events are delighted to reveal yet another exclusive as part of the UK leg of the 2010 SPEA FIM Trial World Championship, which will be held at Nevis Range, Fort William – Scotland over 25/26/27 June. As well as hosting three days of World class action, the beautiful venue set in the Scottish Highlands will also be home to a very special photographic exhibition.

Observed 2 is an incredible montage of one hundred and fifty hundred images personally chosen by Eric Kitchen from his private collection that charts the story of the FIM Trial World Championship over the last three decades. Many of the images in this exhibition have not been previously seen by the public, and have remained hidden away in one of the many thousands of boxes in Eric’s attic until now.

At a youthful 77 years old Eric Kitchen remains a very important part of the international trials community. Equipped with his famous Nikon cameras, Eric and his beautiful wife Ellen still continue to travel the World year after year in their Hymer camper. Eric’s ‘mobile office’ has now become a regular fixture on the European highways throughout the season.

There is no doubt that Eric is by far the most respected and recognised trials photographer on the planet. This kind and gentle man has been responsible for many of the most famous images of the sport over the last forty years or so, and remains a true living legend. Observed 2 will be open daily from 8.00am to 5.00pm – Friday 25 through to Sunday 27 June 2010 inclusive. This exhibition will be located in the Pinemarten Coffee Shop at Nevis Range close to the lower gondola station with admission free to all event ticket holders.

Those attending the three-day event will also have the opportunity to enjoy the recently opened high ropes course that is contained within the paddock area. Stage one is already complete and offers a two level course, which at seven metres high will offer some spectacular views of the main event area. This is a pay to play activity and will be open daily throughout the Trial Grand Prix.

Other breaking news surrounding this highly anticipated event, is that Gas Gas factory riders Adam Raga, who won the second day of the Japanese GP and British hopeful James Dabill will both debut their all new Raga replica machines during the British Grand Prix. Gas Gas UK boss John Shirt Junior stated. “I’m confident that the UK round will be probably the best event of the year being held at this stunning Nevis Range venue. Having our new bike being ridden by the Gas Gas factory trial team for the first time, it is indeed going to be an interesting weekend. I’m already dreaming of a Raga win and a Dabill podium!”
