All
roads lead to the Highlands
With
large crowds expected at the UK World Trial GP, to be
held at Nevis Range, Fort William over 25/26/27 June,
the organisers have put the following arrangements in
place to ensure that visitors enjoy their stay in the
Scottish Highlands.
Travel
Directions to the event can be found on the event

- a map of the local area is shown below. The event
will be AA signed from the A86 at Spean Bridge and the
A82 on the approach to Fort William. A comprehensive
list of alternative transport methods are listed at www.ukworldtrial.com
Event
Buses
Event buses will operate on the two routes listed
below. These services will run on a regular basis on
Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 June only. All event buses
will be clearly marked and will run continuously until
all spectators have been transported from the event
site at the end of each day.
Route 1 (Red route) - Town Centre – This will run
from the town centre (pick ups - outside the Police
station on High Street and Middle Street, behind the
post office), then stops between Ellis Brigham and the
Lochaber Leisure Complex and opposite Nevis Bank hotel
near Glen Nevis roundabout and then finally at the car
park at Corries yard (The final stop applies only when
this car park is in operation).
Route 2 (Green route) - Corpach - This will run from
Corpach, then Banavie and the High School with a
number of marked stops.

Parking
There will be a £5.00 charge per vehicle per day to
park at the Rural Complex, which is located close to
the event. A well-marked footpath will take you
straight to the event site. There will be a limited
shuttle bus service from the Rural Complex to the
event site for the very old, very young or infirm.
There is an excellent cafe with stunning views of Ben
Nevis at the Rural Complex top car park.
When parking at the Rural Complex becomes full, you
will be directed by road signage to alternative free
park + ride car parks just outside Fort William. There
will also be public parking in Fort William itself, at
An Aird and the West End car parks. This parking is
subject to normal rates. There will be a nominal
charge of £1.00 per person per journey for all event
buses. Please take note of the signs advising when car
parks are full / operational and follow the directions
of Police, traffic wardens and parking stewards at all
times.
Cycle
Access
The off-road tarmac cycleway from Fort William to
Torlundy, and then to the event site, is a safe, easy
and fun way to get to the event. There will be a
dedicated cycle parking area on site, whilst members
of security will patrol this area, please remember to
bring your own bike lock. No cycles will be allowed in
the paddock or on any part of the course.
