Wilts Motor ClubChairman’s Statement West Wilts Motor Club want to publicly apologise to all the Riders who entered the Farleigh Castle Hare & Hounds Event we planned to run in 10 days time on the 17th of October, & had to cancel on 22nd of September. The Club has let you down. I know the 117 of you that had entered by Tuesday 5th October are gutted. So are we. Tom Gerken, the Secretary has been in touch with all of you, since he came back from leave on Tuesday to arrange return of your Entry Fees - which hadn’t been banked of course. West Wilts Motor Club are extremely sorry for messing you around, but as you would expect the date had been agreed with the Landowner for a long time. Brian Shuttleworth the CofC had Plotted the Course, Working Parties had been Organised & It Was All Systems Go until Monday 21st September, when Permission was Withdrawn for ‘land management reasons’; the Landowner was very apologetic & is happy for us to come back next year with preferential choice of dates. We tried (& failed) to find another venue at short notice & as that proved impossible, we placed cancellation notices on the Club & the Wessex Centre websites on 23rd September. Frank Sweeting |
