READY
TO RACE IN 2011: KTM GOES TO MILAN WITH MORE NEW INNOVATIONS!
KTM, the Austrian brand for
sports-oriented motorcycles goes to the international motorcycle show
EICMA, in Milan, Italy with even more innovative models for the coming
season that remain true to the company’s philosophy of always being
“Ready to Race”. These include the completely new 350 EXC-F Factory
bike that illustrates that KTM has again gone on the offensive when it
comes to Enduro. Also among the highlights for Milan are the latest
editions of the 1190 RC8 R Superbike and the new entry-level bike, the
KTM 125 Duke.
Just one year ago, it was also at EICMA in Milan that KTM introduced the
revolutionary 350 SX-F and with this, wrote an entirely new chapter in
its unique Motocross success story. In Milan, MX1 World Champion Antonio
Cairoli and E3 World Champion David Knight are to collectively unveil
the new 350 EXC-F Factory Enduro.
This represents the transition of this immensely successful KTM concept
from MX to the world of Enduro. From the spring of 2011, the completely
newly developed machine with the 350 cc fuel injection motor and PDS
chassis will be on the start of the Enduro World Championship. The
concept, which has already been rewarded with the MX1 title, is an
amalgam of unparalleled handling and ideally applied performance that
after a solid testing process in top level racing will also be available
for professional Enduro riders and hobby riders all over the world.
Superbike riders can also have a preview of the 2011 model, 1190
RC8 R at EICMA, the bike that will be in the dealerships from
January. The RC8 R, which occupies the sharp end of the KTM Street model
range, has been upgraded in many important areas. Thanks to its double
ignition and modified rotating masses, this upgraded high-end two
cylinder bike delivers more performance with its 175 hp, while running
exceptionally smoothly. Additional optimisation on the settings of the
KTM that has the most displacement means that the RC8 R is rolled out in
perfect condition – regardless of whether it is for use on the road or
on a closed circuit.
The new KTM 125 Duke, a bike
with significantly less power but no less ability to produce enthusiasm
is also being presented in Milan. The bike, which exhibits all the pure
KTM DNA in design, is definitely destined to be one of the real magnets
on the opening day of the EICMA.
Other innovative models for 2011,
like the 990 Adventure "Dakar"
and the race-ready SX Factory and
Rally Replica underline how highly KTM regards this most important
and biggest international motorcycle fair, while at the same time
representing a real expression of the KTM "Ready to Race!"
philosophy.
Stefan Pierer, CEO of the KTM Sportmotorcycle AG:
"For us, Milan represents the real starting signal for the Model
Year 2011. We go into the coming year with optimism with our new
products that also express our clear intentions in the fields of
"sport" and "youth". KTM is on the starting line and
ready to go”.
