Gwent Police are investigating the burglary and theft of two Yamaha WR enduro bikes from a workshop in Caerphilly. The bikes, a WR 250f and WR 450f were taken overnight from the premises of Phil John’s First Class Customs. The 450 was to have been Craig’s practice bike once his race bike has been shipped to south America. Craig said “I am gutted for Phil, we have been working round the clock on the Rally bike, and he’s done a brilliant job. He is part of the team, and he was going to put the big tanks on his bike for me to use as a practice bike until it’s time to go”. Police are appealing for information on the thefts. Detective Inspector Huw Watkins of the Gwent Police Serious and Organised Crime Intelligence Unit said “We think that this is part of a series of thefts. It appears that thieves are targeting bikes through a variety of means, and we want to remind owners to take all necessary precautions with their security. Someone knows who is taking these bikes, and I appeal to the public to help us catch these thieves. ” Anyone with any information is asked to contact DI Watkins on 01633 838111 ext 2651 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111. |
