KTM GOES GLOBAL: NEW FLAGSHIP STORES IN BRAZIL AND DUBAI

With the opening of two flagship stores within the last two months – in Sao Paolo, Brazil in December and in Dubai, United Arab Emirates in January – KTM, the market leader in sports-oriented motorcycles takes positive steps forward in the company’s quest to become a true global player. In targeting further important markets in Brazil and the Emirates, KTM focuses on two very relevant and dynamic areas of growth.

KTM sees a very promising future in Brazil as a natural market for its street bike and offroad range of sports-oriented motorcycles. The business model includes a flagship store in Sao Paolo and a future joint venture for the assembly of small displacement bikes, considered ideal for the Brazilian market and beyond in the South American region.

Adding even more weight to the latest strategic decision, KTM has established a cooperation with the well known Izzo group, led by Paulo Izzo. Izzo, a charismatic innovator and highly respected figure who for the past 13 years, has been driving the Brazilian market for premium bikes. His passion for motorcycles and his intimate knowledge of this vibrant new market will be an important catalyst in laying the groundwork for KTM to be a force to be reckoned with in this huge South American country.

KTM has seen a significant growth in its market share of offroad motorcycles globally and in particular in the Emirates, where the company has been able to capture an impressive market share and is confident of an even bigger slice of future markets.

Global CSO of KTM Mr. Hubert Trunkenpolz was present at the opening of both flagship stores to underline the importance the company places on these new enterprises.

The opening of the multi-million dirham Middle East flagship store just a few days ago was hosted by Ahmed Al Shafar, President of the Al Shafar Group, the major shareholder in KTM Middle East and managing partner of KTM-UAE, Tim Trenker. Trenker, also a passionate rally rider, presented the UAE with its first ever World Championship title in 2010 when he became World Champion for 2010 in the Open Production class.

Tim Trenker: “KTM is proud to be opening the doors to its new, flagship store for the region, right here in Dubai. By doing this, we are planting the seeds that will support the company’s future growth, built around the exciting model line-up we have.”

KTM Dubai, like KTM Brazil, will stock a full range of motorcycle models as well as the KTM X-Bow super sports car.
