Witley Classic - Round 1 of the SEEC
Report & Photos Richard Troth

As usual arrived early so i could get round the course on my trusted Midwest Husaberg and see what the course was like and to find some good photo opportunity places, i was actually entered to do event but my age and nagging injury put paid to that, however the course was about 9-10 miles in length with 3 special stages, the first one was extreme and was a couple of hard ditches to contend with that were very deep and steep which even some of the top boys took their time to master, then came the cross country stage which was quite narrow in places and very hard to pass but nether less very interesting forest type stage, lastly the MX test which was sand and dirt combined with some jumpy bits was quite short and very open, the rest of the course had mixture of open and tight forest routes, some fast fire roads and the odd hard tricky bit, overall a very good course with lots of virgin parts.

Favourites for the day would have to be Richard Ely (Husaberg), Dan Beaven (KTM), Freddie Broadway (Yamaha),Dan Lawry (KTM), Guy Chandler (KTM), Jack Turner (KTM) or Clive Gammage (KTM).
