Joakim Ljunggren crowned Indoor Enduro Vice-World Champion

The Swedish Husaberg Factory rider together with young Spanish talent Alfredo Gómez and British Extreme Enduro specialist Graham Jarvis put three Husabergs into the top 5 of the series.

After the Championship promoter RPM Racing today announced the cancellation of the third and final round, scheduled for March 5th in Lisbon, Portugal the provisional standings after round 2 in Barcelona now turned the final standings of the series. Being an official FIM World Championship for the first time in 2011 this means that Joakim Ljunggren, sitting in the runner-up spot to Tadeusz Blazusiak, is now crowned Vice-World Champ ion.

Having finished the 2010 Indoor Enduro World Cup in 3rd place he has achieved his goal of improving on this result. "Of course I’m really happy about my result but I would have preferred to fight for the title in Lisbon. I really like the Indoor Enduro races and aboard the new Husaberg 2-stroke I enjoyed them even more." Joakim commented the premature end to the series. "In this case it’s now time for me to focus my training on the start of the Italian Championship and the EWC" he added.

The great success for Husaberg in the 2011 series was completed by young Spaniard Alfredo Gómez in 4th position and Graham Jarvis, the winner of the Hell’s Gate Extreme Enduro race just a couple of days ago, in 5th position.
