DESERT ROSE RACING K2 RALLY 23/24 JULY
A round of the big bike rally challenge

Dirtbike-Action are building on last year’s success and have increased the mileage and found some interesting going to add to the flavour of the rally. This year Patsy Quick has come onboard with the Desert Rose Adventure Academy, with the aim of improving the event even more. This year the event forms a part of the big bike rally challenge and the vast forestry gravel road network and hard based tracks of Kielder will prove ideal for them, using the rally route ideal for trail bikes and riders wanting a good day. For riders that want a little bit more of a challenge they can elect to ride Rally Plus. Ideal for trail bikes and enduro bikes, the route based on the rally route with a few enduro loops thrown in. The aim of both routes is to give the riders a great weekend. As well as the 2 routes all the sub classes are catered for.

Starting from the tourist town of Bellingham, the rally sets out to the forest with a 7 mile liaison stage before the off road riding starts at Yarrowmoor. With a lap of seventy miles it winds its way through Smailesmouth, the Bower, then through the famous RAC rally stages of Pundershaw and Walk before reaching the refuelling and check point at Whygate. Leaving the check point the rally moves on to Paddaburn and a final sting at Jocks Pike. Riders will aim to complete 2.5 laps per day, but everyone gets a result weather you complete 1 or the allotted 2.5 laps, so there is something for everyone.  Refuelling is taken care of by the club, all you have to do is provide cans of fuel and they will be at the service points.  Camping from the Thursday on a Greenfield site on the banks of the north tyne  Entries are open online at www.dirtbike-action.co.uk
