Forest Off Road IOPD MUDIE BOND Junior British Enduro Championship Final Rounds.... The Wyre Forest off road team yet again built a track that would test rider & machine. The weather had been kind all week making riding conditions almost perfect, Although this was the second visit to Eastern Parks farm in Ashby De-la Zouche for the British Championship rounds, A completely different part of the estate was used making it a new track for all championship riders, The track consisted of technical woodland, fast mx sections, Easy & hard routes for the more advanced rider & two boggy areas. Race 1 on Saturday saw the very competitive 65cc & auto 50cc riders do battle on the full course as the older riders would use, Back from his recent tour on the Redbull National scene the ever dominant Archie Hicks soon made his way to the front of the pack on his Cobra sponsored bike but Copper top Racer Joseph Davies was determined not to let Archie out of his sight and pushed him all the way to the finish but had to settle for 2nd place as Hicks took the win with William Criq close behind in 3rd, Archie was set to make it the double on day 2 but didn't get a great start but pushed up to lead with Joseph Davies sat on his back wheel until Davies hit a dust burm to hard and flipped the bike giving Hicks a big enough lead to take a toilet break during refuelling and still take the win, Davies had to settle for another 2nd place with Jed Sawyer in 3rd, Rider of the day has to go to Frankie White Edwards who battled with Dominic Arnold all race to take his first podium finish of the championship & finish 4th with Arnold 5th. All the clubs static & rolling marshalls waited in the 2 bogs to help the small wheeled 50cc bikes through the tough bog section but as usual they proved why they are the best in the country and made short work of both bogs opting to use the faster hard route over the easy route. Sam Davies Dominated doth days taking both wins even after riding 4 laps with a puncture in the rear wheel on day 2, Roman Skinner put in two superb performances to finish second both days & Connor Downes 3rd both days.
Young Harry Aughterlony Smashed the 85cc 13yr & over class winning both days & finishing 3rd & 4th overall in the races, another name to watch out for, Another up & coming star is Luke Rudd finishing 2nd both days & very respectful overall finishes, Matt Leedham finished 3rd Sat with Hannah Murray 3rd Sunday. Antoine Criq took his usual position at the front to take the win on Saturday with Brad Sullivan a close 2nd & Dean Edwards 3rd. Sullivan found some extra pace for Sunday finishing 4 minutes faster than the previous day to win with Jack Law in 2nd also with a rocket under him finishing in a time that would of won day 1, Dean Edwards also must of eaten 3 Shredded wheat to finish 3rd again but completing a lap more than the day before.
The Yardley brothers Henry & George finished 1st & 2nd with Alfie Weyman 3rd in the Auto Quad under 10yrs, Iestyn Rowlands took the win from Jamie Bone who finished 2nd on Saturday with Tom Chell in 3rd. Sunday saw Bone & Rowlands going into the final race of the championship on equal points but Iestyn was to be overall victor finishing 2nd with Bone down in 4th after mechanicle problems Tom Chell took a well deserved Win on the day with Calum Owen in 3rd. Wyre Forest Off Road would like to take this opportunity to thank all the marshalls & sponsors that have Helped to make the 2011 Junior British Enduro Championship such a success, Also a massive well done to all the riders that have supported the Championship. See you all at the Presentation. Round 1 of the Youth & Adult Winter series Starts 19th & 20th November 2011 At Coney Green Farm, Stourport on Severn .
Winkworth Farm is famous for its normal very wet & soft ground but for the first time in 5 years of using the venue the club were graced with perfect weather conditions which would make racing & spectating a real treat, Ground conditions were excellent for Saturday but some over night rain made the racing conditions perfect on sunday. Race 1 on both days as always saw the 65cc & auto 50cc solo's take to the full 6.2 mile lap with the extreme log section blocked off no short cuts were available for these riders but they still managed to put in lap times many adults would be pleased with. Cobra sponsored Archie Hicks took the hole shot on both days and did the double to Win both races, Team mate Zac Clarke finished 2nd in race 1 but only managed 6th in race 2, Dominic Arnold has found some real form having finished 3rd in both races his best results to date, Dominic Lancett finished 2nd in Race 2 not far behind the leader after not such a good finish in race 1. Sam Davies & Oliver Sheldon took up the front spots in the Auto
50cc Both class neck & neck for both races, Sam managed to take both
wins with Oliver 2nd on Saturday but a crash forced Oli to pull out of
race 2, Jordan Gould finished 3rd on sat, Charlie Palmer finished 2nd in
race 2. In the Auto quad races Brothers Jamie & Alex Bone took wins in there classes in both races, Henry Yardley finished 2nd in race on Saturday in the under 10yrs quad class with Callum Burke 3rd & 2nd on Sunday, In the 10yrs & over quad class Both Matty Morris & Iestyn Rowlands would have a 2nd & 3rd place each. In the newly formed Solo expert class Andy bull took the holeshot but this was short lived as Liam Garbett over took Bull on a jump and pulled over a minutes lead on 2nd place before pitting for fuel, as Garbett was only out for some bike time he decided to miss a lap then finish the race so not to take points away from other riders, Luke Smith had a great start to the season finishing 1st in both expert races taking about 9.5 minutes per 6.2 mile lap averaging just under 40mph over rough ground, Luke had some added pressure for the full duration of the 2nd race as the challenge had been set for him to stay in front of Garbett who started behind the 85cc group 2 mins behind Smith & for his hard work he premiered the race finishing 50 seconds clear of Garbett in 2nd, But as Garbett will not be Contesting the Championship the 2nd place honours went to Andy Bull in race 1 & Ashley Bowden in race 2. Bowden looked set for 2nd place finish in race 1 but managed to snap off his gear lever bolt leaving him trying to race in 3rd gear dropping him down to 5th place, Harland White finished a very respectable 3rd in race 1 & 4th in race 2, Rob Jerwood challenged the leaders for a few laps but fitness let him down after recovering all winter from a knee injury but still managed 4th & 3rd positions. The Clubman solo class saw a hard fought battle between Josh Bennett & Current I.O.P.D Ladies British Champion rider Katie Walker, Katie pushed Bennett in both races trying to force him into a mistake as they were both matched equally for speed & ability but Bennett managed to keep his cool and wasn't about to be a gentleman and leave the door open for her & took 2 wins for his effort, Katie had to settle for two 2nd place finishes, Jack Denning-James Finished 3rd in race 1 With Harri Philips 3rd in race 2. The 85cc under 13yrs was dominated by Antoine Criq taking the holeshot & winning both days races, whilst ironman Archie Hicks managed a 2nd place in race 1 & a 4th in race 2 (& this is after he has just won the 1hr 65cc races each day) 3rd place position went to Jacob (Bhaarrp) Bowden on Saturday but had mechanical problems on Sunday after pushing his bike to the limit & had to DNF, Jack Law had a massive coming together with another rider on Saturday & finished 6th but managed to finish 2nd on Sunday with Dean Edwards in 3rd. In the 13yrs & over 85cc group E T James backed rider Adam James showed everyone he means business this year and stamped his authority by taking convincing wins in both days racing, Luke Arnall finished 2nd on Saturday & Luke Rudd in 3rd Sat & 2nd on Sunday, Ross Truszkowski could only manage 6th place on Saturday as he was the other rider involved in the crash with Law but came back strong to finish 3rd on Sunday in a very strong group. In summery 2 great days of racing was had by all that attended the weekends meeting at a superb venue & the added bonus of sunshine made it the more fun. A big thank you to all that support the club, all the 24 marshalls for working hard to keep everyone going & carrying out track repairs, the First Aid crew that never fail to amaze me with there commitment to our riders With the bold such bold statements that other clubs making, that their championships are the one's to follow, all I can say is, if you want to be the Best you have to race the Best so if you are up for a challenge book in to the next round of the I.O.P.D Junior British Enduro Championship at a completely new venue that has never seen a race before, at Salford Court Farm, Worcester, To book in Contact Rob Garbett on 07740 151273 or visit www.wyreforestoffroad.co.uk Results Sunday
Saturday made way for the Youth riders with almost perfect ground & weather conditions on the extended 5.5 mile lap. Out first were the 65cc & 50cc riders Sam Davies Hole shot was short lived as Oliver Sheldon soon took up the lead in the 50cc class & never put a foot wrong to take a clear win 4 minutes in front of second place Sam Davies with Patrick Borge in 3rd, Taylor Morton 4th & Ewan Potter 5th, Sam Davies commented to me after the race he just wanted a finish and not push to hard so he could take the overall series win, Then I hear through the grapevine he Won the overall Wilden MX championship the following day, Well done Sam... In the 65cc class the racing could not have been closer William Stansbie finished 1st , just 12 seconds behind him in 2nd place was Archie Hicks after battling his way back up to the front from some earlier mishaps, Domonic Lancett (left) was just another 30 seconds behind in 3rd.
Race 3 the quads took to the track off first was the Blaster class Jamie Morgan sat and waited after the flag dropped when he felt the other had a sufficient lead he dropped the hammer & he was off within one lap he was up to 3rd by the end of the 2nd lap he was leading and still found time to chat to his pit crew before taking the win, Harry Brennan fought hard to hold onto as Kyle Hawkes in 3rd was never far behind. Dexter Langford looked set to challenge the lead at one point until his rear shock broke on the 2nd lap. Matty Morris took up his normal spot at the front in the 10yrs & over auto quad class to take the win with Iestyn Rowlands on his 125cc 4t raptor in 2nd & Callum Owen in 3rd. Henry Yardley took the win in the under 10yrs auto quad class
Last race of the weekend was the adult quads, by now it had been
raining for 4hrs so conditions were getting very tricky but none of the
track was changed and the mud fest began. Darren Bridge took the hole shot
in the expert class but Ian Johnson put in a strong challenge to take the
win from Bridge who had to settle for 2nd place, Gary Barnes Brought his
660 raptor out of retirement after over 6yrs of not racing & managed
to finish a very tired & weiry 3rd place. In the clubman class Billy
Langford dominated from start to finish to take the win with Andrew
Shepherd in 2nd & Josh Langford in 3rd all a lap ahead of the rest of
the field. well done to Timmy Tugboat Morgan finishing 7th, only the 2nd
time on a quad not bad for a solo rider. Youth Results Adults
Saturday saw the Youth riders take to the 5 mile lap, out first were the 65cc & auto 50cc solo classes. The flag dropped at 10am & all the riders were away safely. The wet conditions did nothing to slow them down using the full lap that the older youth riders would attempt later. Archie Hicks wasn't riding to his normal standard having a bad start & not manageing to find his normal position up the front. Ryan 'the rocket' Rowlands stamped his authority on the days racing finishing 1st in the 65cc class, Dominic Lancett 2nd and William Stansbie 3rd. Sam Davies had a good start to his day leading the Auto class and was well up with the 65cc boys but mechanical problems put an end to his chances of winning & he ended up 3rd. Patrick Borge rode consistently well each lap to take a well earned 1st place with Oliver Sheldon in 2nd. In some very difficult conditions these small wheeled riders all did amazingly well. Race 2 would see the quads take to the track. Jamie Morgan is becoming a real force to contend with in the Blaster class. He started the race at the front and pulled away from the rest of the field & would finally take the win. Kyle Hawkes pushed hard in 2nd place to try & stay with Jamie but made a few mistakes & dropped to 4th, which allowed Zach Dunn to take 2nd place with Dexter Langford in 3rd. In the Auto Quad 10's & over class new comers to the club Iestyn Rowlands took the win with Dafydd Davies in 2nd and club regular Callum Owen 3rd. In the under 10's Aled Davies was to take the win with Callum Burke 2nd. Race 3 was for the older solo riders & after the quads had pushed
most of the mud off the track they would put in some very fast lap times.
In the 250cc class Ashley Bowden blitzed the class to take the win with
Andy Bull in 2nd & Ben Langley 3rd. Luke Smith not only dominated the
125cc class as usual, he managed to premier the race aswell. Josh Bennett
followed in for 2nd place & Callum Reynalds 3rd. Adam James took the
win in the 85cc 13yrs & over a full lap ahead of brothers Daniel &
Matthew Boam finishing 2nd & 3rd. Jacob Bowden had a fantastic race
taking his first ever win in the 85cc under 13yrs class with Antoine Criq
2nd & Luke Arnall 3rd. The afternoon race saw the solo class take to a slightly longer lap using another section of woodlands and steep climbs. Top youth rider Luke Smith in the Expert class showed everybody else the way, leading the whole race to take his second premier & class win of the weekend. Old timer Dave Dunn took a well earned 2nd place after also racing in the earlier quad race with another top youth WFOR rider Andy Bull taking 3rd. Liam Garbett started at the back after waiting for all the experts to go off the line, looked set for a podium finish pulling through the pack well until an awkward crash twisted his knee leaving Garbett to sit out a couple of laps. He put in a strong push at the end to take 8th overall. Team mate Ash Bowden was having a good race at the front until he ripped the rear sprocket off the hub which meant he had to be towed back. Tom Card found himself taking his 2nd championship win of the series in the clubman class with Pete Benton finishing in 2nd place & Scott Donativo 3rd. Well done to everyone who attended the meeting and from the feed back received everyone had a good time. A big thank you to all the riders & marshalls that helped clear the track its greatly appreciated. The final rounds of the winter series will be 12th & 13th Feb. Please see web site for further details www.wyreforestoffroad.co.uk
Wyre Forest Off Road hosted Round 2 Youth & Round 1 Adult of the Mudie Bond Winter Challenge at the very well known venue of Coney Green Farm, Stourport-On-Severn. The weather men got it right this time & had forecast rain all week which we got making the venue very wet but the sandy conditions were taking all that the heavens could throw at it. Saturday was set for the youth classes following a 5 mile lap that was designed to be very fast and flowing giving all the riders the chance to push their bikes & quads to the limit. Out first as always were the 65cc & 50cc Auto solo classes which would normally run on a shorter & easier course. Such is the standard of these young riders they were given the opportunity to race on the full lap & did they rise to the challenge? Yes they did. Even to the extent that they didn't try the easy routes put in, they used the harder tyre sections laid out for the older riders. Archie Hicks took the hole shot in the 65cc class and pulled a huge lead in the 1st lap and managed to take the win. Over the 1hr 15min race Harry Edmundson was showing some real style & pace reducing Archie's lead but was unable to catch the Cobra sponsored rider & had to settle for 2nd place. With William Stansbie in a creditable 3rd. A big well done to Mitch Parkes who had to be brought off the track in the 4x4 ambulance after crashing on the 1st lap, he soon got back on his bike to complete a further 4 laps showing real determination. Sam Davies wasted no time in getting to the front of the 50cc group but swapping places during the race with his mate Paddy Borge, Sam finally took the win with Patrick 2nd & Ewan Potter in 3rd. Race 2 was for the older solo riders. Ashley Bowden wanted to show it
wasn't a fluke that he won Round 1 and went off like a rocket to take the
overall win & the 250cc 4stroke class win with Andy Bull in 2nd &
James Earl in 3rd. Luke Smith had to settle for 2nd overall but took the
125cc class win a full lap clear of 2nd place rider Callum Reynaulds with
Jack Denning-James 3rd. In the over 13yrs 85cc class Jack Edmundson was on
a charge battling with friend Brad Freeman all race. Eddy looked set to
take the win but had a puncture making way for Brad to take the win just
29 seconds in front of Edmundson in 2nd, Harry Aughterlony took a hard
fought 3rd place over Adam James in 4th. Antoine Criq lead from start to
finish in the under 13yrs 85cc class finishing in 1st ahead of Luke Arnall
in 2nd & Ross Truszkowski in 3rd. Sunday made way for the adult ranks with just Expert & Clubman classes for both solo & quad riders. Entries looked good for both but many of the quad riders not showing on the day didn't dampen the riders spirits and they got ready for some superb racing. Out first were the solo riders on a slightly extended route from the Saturday. Clarke of the course Sean Reynolds couldn't resist putting in a few technical sections as the track had dried out to perfect racing conditions after the youth riders had cleared all the wet areas the day before. Paul (Fast Eddy) Edmundson had made himself available on Saturday marshalling while his boys raced and using the time to run in his new KTM, Paul was so impressed with the track and conditions couldn't help but return Sunday to race. With the offer of a free race at the next meeting to anyone that could beat Paul on the 1st lap he was in for a hard time from everyone. Liam Garbett showed why he is WFOR top solo rider taking the hole shot and pulling away from the expert field. He wanted to prove a point and with top adult expert Tom Hirons on his tail, these two looked set to give Paul a run for his money. It took Eddy over 3/4 of a lap to catch & push past Garbett & Hirons just managing to get into lap scoring 1st. Garbett & Hirons stayed in sight of Eddy for one more lap but could not keep up the relentless pace Eddy had set. Garbett had to retire at the 1hr point with an aggravated back injury sustained at the Barmouth Beach race. Eddy had pulled a 4min lead by this point leaving Hirons in 2nd & a very fast Luke Smith chasing. These two were to keep swapping places but with no way of catching Eddy he was able to cruise to the finish with a good lead over 2nd place Tom Hirons and & WFOR Youth rider Luke Smith following in 3rd. In the Clubman class the front runners were having their own battle with the final tally being Tom Card taking the class win, Ryan Cyhanchuck in 2nd & Phil Ball finishing in 3rd. At the end of the race Paul Ed commented on how hard it was to pass Liam & Tom with how fast they were riding & what a great day he had ( thanks Paul glad you enjoyed it),A big well done to Craig Badman on his 1st race back after a massive mx crash which resulted in a broken neck, well done mate..... Race 2 saw the quads take to the track, Top Quad MX racer Oli Sampson
pulled off a massive lead on the 1st lap and would finally take the
overall win in the Expert class with Darren Bridge in 2nd & MKM Rocket
man racer Ant Barrett in 3rd, In the clubman class Top WFOR youth quad
rider Thomas Downes was set to take the win on his 200cc Blaster until he
broke his throttle cable allowing Joe Andrews to take the class win with
another WFOR youth rider taking 2nd place with Richard Clarke in 3rd
place. Well done to all that rode at the weekend & thank you for your
support , the next rounds will be at the same venue on 8th & 9th

The rain continued all through out the night to make for some very tough racing on saturday, Out first were the 65cc & 50cc auto classes racing for the first time on the full 5 mile lap set out for the older riders giving the pit crews something to think about on fuel stratergies, Archie Hicks took the first holeshot of the day on his Cobra sponsored 65cc bike & pulled a massive lead on lap 1, The very muddy & slippy grass sections did nothing to slow Archie down as he managed to lap everyone to take the win, George Saunders had a fantastic ride to finish 2nd & William Stansbie in 3rd, Sam Davies had to battle hard in some really tough conditions to take his first ever xc win with Patrick Borge in 2nd & Alfie Webb in 3rd. Race 2 saw the Quads take to the track with more rain on its way they were also in for a tough time but with all three classes underway, Philip Mackenzie Smith took the holeshot in the blaster class but soon lost his lead with Billy Langford who came round 1st on lap 1 with brother Dexter & Jamie Morgan pushing him hard with all three swapping places during the 1.5hr race Billy came out on top to take the win with Dexter 2nd & Jamie in 3rd, The very demanding conditions took it toll on the Auto quads with only 4 finishing but all the riders put up a great effort, Matty Morris won the 10's & over class with Callum Owen 2nd, George Betton looked set to take the win in the under10's but broke down on the last lap and DNF'd leaving Callum Burke to finish 1st & Henry Yardley in 2nd. Race 3 made way for the older solo riders, having the best conditions of the day after the sun showed its self and tried to dry out the track & quads shifted most of the mud & water out of the gateways but the solos would'nt have it easy as all the corners were still very slippy. Ashley Bowden had a bad start on his new 250f but soon showed some new found speed and reeled in the overall leader Luke Smith passed him & took the overall & class win, Andy Bull finished 2nd & Sam Turner finished 3rd in the 250f class, Luke Smith had to settle for 2nd overall but won the 125/150cc 2 stroke class with Hayden Maller 2nd & Josh Bennett 3rd, with both of the 85cc classes starting together there was some close racing between the two groups but Adam James showed his dominance in the race pushed hard from start to finish to take the Win in the 85cc ,13yrs & over class & took a very respectable 4th position overall in the race starting over a minute behind the 250 & 125 classes, Dan Price Finished in 2nd & Tom Jennings in 3rd, In the under 13yrs 85cc class Antoine Criq won the group with Luke Arnall 2nd & Jacob Bowden in 3rd, Iron man Archie Hicks had his 1st outing on his Sponsored 85cc TM with a member of his pit crew waiting at lap scoring to help if he fell off as he could only just touch the floor but managed a very respectable 9th place. Well done to all the riders that attended the 1st round in some very tricky & tough conditions, a big thanks to all the marshalls who worked none stop to keep the riders upright, the riders for collecting in the tape, Matt Hicks who gave up 2 days to help build the track without who we wouldnt of got it finished & a big thanks to Sean, Big Andy, Badger, The 2 Vinnies & Will for staying over to clear up & the lap scoring girls who put up with the mud & cold.... Thanks Again you are all what makes our club such a success..... RESULTS Wyre

I.O.P.D Youth British Enduro Championship Wyre forest off road Hosted the 9th & 10th round of the IOPD Youth British Enduro Championship at the world famous Cwmythig Hill mx track in Rhayader with the lap being just under 4 miles long, it was a little shorter than a lot of the competitors were used to but with there being Two huge mx tracks incorporated into the lap it was set to challenge everyone from novice through to the top racers in the club, the recent dry weather was looking as though the meeting would have to be cancelled for safety reasons as there was a 6 inch layer dust of the course in many places, so a very worried Rob Garbett spoke with Andrew James of ET James in Rhayader to express his concerns and as always Andrew just said no problem leave it with me, the wheels were put in to motion and favours called in and soon the water bousers started to arrive to save the weekends racing which turned out to be spectacular, So a big thank you from all at WFOR to the hard work put in by the to tractor drivers that worked late into the night friday & Saturday dumping water around the track & turning up sunday morning with more water just in case it was needed……
Racing got underway with the 65cc & auto 50cc class racing for 1hr 15mins on both Saturday and Sunday morning Rocket Ryan Rowlands & top Mx 65cc Rider Alex Walton battled from start to finish both days with Rowlands xc experience and an unlucky puncture to Walton saw Rowlands take both wins over the weekend & Walton 2nd, Alex Lancett finished 3rd on Sat but had to settle for 4th on Sunday after a crash left him with a dead leg leaving Archie Hicks to take a 3rd over a lap in front of 4th. Next out were the bigger solo riders Oli Benton still managed to pull off two wins over the weekend after a big off on the opening corners off the start and taking a little lay down before remounting his bike to dominate the class but never far behind is Luke Rudd constantly putting Oli under pressure to take 2nd on both days & Antoine Criq finishing 3rd both 85cc under 13yrs groups, In the 13yrs & over class Jack Powell took up his usual spot at the front to take 2 race wins over the weekend But Adam James put on a very impressive show and is improving every race to take 2nd places & racing Sunday with a broken toe after kicking the floor on Saturday, Harland White got a special Birthday present to take to race wins in the 125cc class after championship leader Luke smith suffered from mechanical problems both days only managing 2nd on Saturday & 6th Sunday Ash Bowden managed to hold onto 3rd place on sat but Sunday ended with a DNF from mechanical problems, Josh Bennett showed some real pace on Sunday to finish 2nd after a DNF and Saturday & Ryan Cyhanchuck taking 3rd, In the 250cc 4 stroke class Liam Garbett Took both holeshots over the 2 & 4 strokes and taking both class wins and take the Premier award both days & still finding time to throw a few tricks over the massive table top an the adult mx track for the spectators & the Blood Sweat & Gears film crew and just to rub salt in the wounds Garbett also pulled over to talk to one of the photographers and ask him to try and get a good picture of him on the next lap, Nath (Big Ken) Holtby struggling with is fitness after a recent illness & blisters cruised in to take two 2nd places over James Earl who finished 3rd both days Rob Latham very close behind in 4th with Tom Slater improving every race as he gets used to the new 4 stroke finishing 5th.
Last out on Saturday were the Adults With an amazing line up of 44 riders without any advertising as a club we were very happy, as this was just a fun race the riders were given their instructions not to race just enjoy the 1 hr race, Yer right that was really going to happen, after everyone nearly fell off their bikes laughing at the riders meeting & the start line lady the flag was dropped and the start line exploded into life with elbows flying & handle bars bashing just to try and get round the holeshot corner the battle of the dads, clubman & experts began on a shortened track of the earlier races The racing was awesome and very well received by all that entered, overall winner was Justin Hill in the clubman class (who will be an expert next time out) in 2nd place was Nathan Blake & Nigel Walker 3rd in the clubman class, Dave Dunn won the Expert class over Jeff law who finished 2nd & Club Marshall Timmy (Tug Boat ) Morgan finished 3rd The Solo &quad racing was closer than ever in all the classes and real talent from these riders is showing through so Adult riders beware before long these kids are going to be showing you the way home… Yet again Proving WFOR is right up there with the top clubs to race at. Wyre Forest off Road Elite Solo & Quad riders pulled off some fantastic results at the Triple H at Hawkstone hosted & run by WOR events On Saturday, Nathan Holtby, Liam Garbett & Harland White got a 1,2,3 in the Junior MX Moto duro which consisted of two One hour races on a very demanding track 8 min lap in soft sand & desert like temperatures, Garbett managed to holeshot race one but collided with another rider that had started in a group earlier in the race & struggled to restart his bike putting him 2 mins down on class leader Ash Bowden who took the 1st win with Holtby in 2nd & white in 3rd, With the boys already tired and struggling to cope with the heat just 30 mins later Race 2 got under way with Garbett taking his 2nd holeshot of the day pushed hard the whole race to take the Class win & 2nd overall Holtby finished in 2nd & 1st place overall with Ash Bowden looking set to take 3rd but 1 lap from the end the dust was just to much for his air filter to cope with and his bike lost all its power and just about managed to limp over the line to finish 4th overall, White had a very consitant 2nd race to give him 3rd overall. 30 mins after the Moto Duro finished it was time for the Quads to do battle Liam Garbett was booked in to race his Quad but pleaded with team boss & WFOR organisor Rob Garbett that he was tied to race But after some encouragement & his team mate Nath Holtby saying he would share the race with him ( although he has never ridden a quad before) Garbett got him self to the line but had missed the start of his group and stated in a group behind but the pair swapped over every 3 laps to finish the 2hr race both riders completely exhausted by the end of the race and were absolutely amazed to find out they had finished 3rd in their group but feeling it not fair on the other races they didn’t accept the trophy which went to 4th place and were just happy to lay on the floor and fall asleep.. Ricky Roberts dominated the youth 250cc class from start to finish to take the win with Billy Langford hot on his tail to take 2nd Sophie Bosworth looked set for a podium finish but didn’t feel to well on her pit stop and lost a few places, Dexter Langford & Dan Price also put on a good show in the very difficult conditions showing WFOR quad riders are awesome on any terrain… Day two Saw the youth auto, 65cc & 85cc race for 1.5hrs young Jack Hawkins was flying and took the win in the auto class, Mitch Parkes rode well only the 2nd time he has raced his 65cc after moving up from the Auto class & Jacob Bowden was following is big brothers foot steps to get on the podium but his front brake seized on towards the end of the race resulting in a DNF. Josh Strange & Ryan Cyhanchuck went out in race 2 unfortunately Ryans bike dropped all its coolant on the 1st lap putting him out of the race but Josh ( chezzer) Strange amazed us all by actually finishing a race and even more so riding for the full 2hrs & being very stylish as well. Race 3 was reduced down to 2hrs due to the very high temperature which was well received by the riders Garbett took his 3rd holeshot of the weekend & although still very tired from the day before & had commented he was just going to plod around and get a finish he looked set to take another win but had another coming together with rider & a tree on one of the tight sections allowing the 2nd place rider to pass, at the one hour point Garbett was just 20 seconds down on the class leader & when He pitted he commented he couldn’t feel his arms and didn’t want to continue but with fuel & fluids taken on Garbett set off to finish the race but with his lap times getting slower his pit crew pulled him in for more drinks & encouragement, Liam pushed hard for the last 30mins to finish an outstanding 2nd place, Ash Bowden & Nath Holtby still suffering from the heat & exhaustion from the day before racing the pair still managed very respectable finish places. Well done to all the WFOR members that raced sorry if I missed anyone out you were all amazing, & again proving you are some of the best riders in the country Also well big well done to Steve Ireland and his crew for a fantastic weekend racing & we all wish Danny Lloyd a speedy recovery after his crash in the Quad race.
2010 I.O.P.D Junior British Enduro Championship Rounds 5 & 6 Round 5 & 6 of the I.O.P.D Junior British Enduro Championship were hosted by Wyre Forest Off Road at the spectacular venue in the heart of USK Monmouthshire with the track being 90% woodland forest with a small amount of fire road & open fields this event was set to be the best this country can offer. A small amount of rain was prayed for to keep the dust down after the previous weeks sunshine but a little to much was sent so an up hill section with 3 jumps in it had to be quickly changed for all the weekends racing, with the youngest riders facing the 3 mile loop the 65cc & auto 50cc race got under way. New comer from the MX world Jaydon Murphy took an early lead in the 1hr 15min race but soon found he could keep his fast pace up for the full time so the more experienced XC racing started to real him in, So the Rocket Ryan Rowlands showed Murphy the way home to take the win by over 2 minutes Murphy in 2nd & Ross Jones a close 3rd , Day 2 saw Archie Hicks back on the podium to take the win a full lap in front, not a bad result after trying to find an alternative route through a holly bush when he spun out on one of the climbs these younger riders had to contend with but the dryer conditions on Sunday made way for some much faster lap times with a full 2 laps more being completed on the previous days winner, George Saunders took a very respectful 2nd place with Aaron Webb taking the 3rd place slot. Dominic Lancett pulled off a superb win in the tricky conditions on Saturday in the Auto race with Zac Clarke in 2nd & Oliver Sheldon in 3rd, Sunday Saw Zac Clarke take the win with Taylor Morton Showing some real skill to take the 2nd place & Sam Davies in 3rd.
Race 3 on Saturday was for the Quads running on the same 7 mile loop as the solos but with one of the extreme routes taken out due to the steepness of the exit out from the stream at the bottom, Jamie Morgan dominated both races in the Blaster Class taking both wins over the wk end, Jamie also found time to pull over and help young Alex Bone who had crashed, Danny Lloyd still managed to take 2nd place after a problem with his steering dampner with Jack Godfrey in 3rd, Jaks Griffiths found some of his old form to take a very respectable 2nd place on Sunday just 39 seconds off the leader & Danny Lloyd in 3rd, The auto quads under 10s saw Matty Morris win on Saturday with Jamie Bone in 2nd & Aaron Davies take a brilliant 3rd place as this was only his 2nd race with the 1st being 12 months earlier at the same venue, Jamie Bone took the win on Sunday with Bradley Cockrem in 2nd 4mis in front of 3rd place Matty Morris, George Betton was on form in the wet conditions on sat taking the win with Barnaby Dare in 2nd & Chloe Keitch in 3rd, Young Alex Bone took the win on sunday pulling out a huge lead of over 15 mins on 2nd place Barnaby Dare on his 100cc auto quad which would of given him a top 20 finish in the blaster class who started a full 2min before him with Callum Burke in 3rd Results
Practice Day Some of Wyre Forest Off Road elite riders got together for a days practicing at the Top mx practice venue in Worcestershire APEX to receive some training from top XC rider Timmy (tug boat) Morgan, But Tim failed to impress the youth riders as the standard is so high with all the WFOR riders they blitzed him around the track showing him how it should be done by putting in some lap times that any top expert MX rider would be more than happy with, The British Championship riders were all out the gain some vital jumping skills ready for rounds 9 & 10 of the championship which will be held at the famous Cwmythig Hill mx track in Rhayader & will also be being filmed by Blood Sweat & Gears and shown on Sky tv showing the race fraternity that WFOR can Boast that they have the best tracks & best Riders in the country.

2010 I.O.P.D Junior British Enduro Championship Rounds 1 & 2 Saturday 20th & Sunday 21st Saw the start of the IOPD Junior British Enduro Championship, with many clubs professing to be the best country, Wyre Forest Off Road only boast that they have some of the best youth riders in the country, After a Wyre forest off road hit squad dominated a recent AMCA moto-duro taking away most of the trophies as a pre season warm up and the standard of the riding at this weekends racing just proved this point, with the weather turning very wet Friday afternoon the perfect ground conditions soon started to deteriate, the patience of the parents was tested as most of the vehicles had to be towed in but none were deterred and just waited their turn, the rain finally stopped in the early hours of Saturday morning, so with a very wet 3.5 mile lap for the Auto solo & 65cc riders awaiting them the battle between the wet conditions and machine began, the hour long race saw a few bike casualties as radiators got clogged up & over heated but pit crews kept their riders going and the marshalls keeping them upright, Zac Clarke managed outstanding double wins over the weekend with Dominic Lancett taking two 2nd places James Hanscome finished 3rd on sat with Joseph (copper top Racing) Davies taking 3rd place on Sunday. 65cc rider Ross Jones Managed to start the season with a win on sat but had to settle for second place on Sunday, Archie Hicks finished 2nd on sat on the new 65cc Cobra and 3rd on Sunday, Harry Vaughan finished 3rd on Saturday, Alex lancett had a fantastic ride on Sunday to blast his way into the lead and take the win on Sunday, All the youth riders in the 50cc & 65cc are only aged 6yrs to 8yrs & managed to complete multiple laps of a track that a lot of adults would of struggled on, these kids are tough. Next out were the Older Solo riders on 85cc, 125cc & the new 250cc four stroke class on a much longer 6mile loop, the 125cc & 250cc riders rocketed off the line with Luke Smith taking an early lead On his 125 with Andy Bull, Josh Bennett, & Ash Bowden close behind, Liam Garbett & Nath Holtby didn’t get the usual start positions on their four stroke machines but Garbett on a charge pushed to catch Smith with the two swapping places every lap it seemed the 2 stroke machine had the edge over the four bangers in the wet conditions Garbett having to pit twice for goggles and fuel and a radiator clean outs Smith pulled away as he only pitted once Garbett pushed on to finally pass Smith on the last lap to take the Premier overall win & the 250cc 1st place which he was more than happy with as he rode with a broken hand , Smith won the 125cc class but the racing rivalry between the two mates was all about the overall win, Nath Holtby managed to pull off a superb 2nd place although he had bike problems for most of the race with Marcus Becque in 3rd in the 250cc class, Andy Bull finished 2nd & Josh 3rd in the 125cc class. Birthday boy Andy Bull got the present he wanted by getting the holeshot & pulling out a massive lead but Smith & Garbett were both out to prove a point and were on the hunt after Bull, It wasn’t long before they passed Bull and the battle of the two classes was on again for the premier overall win, Garbett took his position at the front and stayed there for the remainder of the race nearly 3 minute a lap faster than the day before as the ground started to dry out & take the overall &class win, Smith & Bull didn’t make it easy for him & will dog him all year for that premier front spot, Smith & Bull took 1st & 2nd in the 125cc class & Ash Bowden finishing 3rd , Nath Holtby sorted his mechanical problems and managed another 2nd place & 4th overall position Good going after 6 months off through injury. Jack Powell showed he was on form taking two wins over the weekend from Top lady rider Katie walker who had to settle for two 2nd Places with Adam James proving hes ready to mix it up the front in the 85cc 13yrs & over class having two 3rd places under his belt, In the under 13yrs 85cc class Oli Benton was flying on the sat race to take the win and looked good for a 2nd win on sunday but his pit crew let him down and he ran out of fuel and had to push his bike back to the pits losing valuable time and finishing 11th, Mitch Warhurst took the win on Sunday after a 2nd place finish on Saturday Harry Aughterlony in £rd on sat & George Birchill 3rd on Sunday Although the mud didn’t improve at all on Saturday & Sunday I just got stickier & a lot heavier on the machines but some fantastic racing was still had in the quad classes, Tom Downes Showed some real determination in the difficult conditions on his 200 blaster destroying the four stroke raptors who were suffering in the wet & muddy conditions to take the overall win and looked certain for another win swapping places With Jamie Morgan on Sunday but Jamie just outmatched Toms skill on Sunday to take well deserved win leaving Tom in second, Son of Top Adult quad racer Gary Miller Young Harry Miller Showed the older Blaster class riders how its done proving he can match the pace & skill of older more experienced riders taking 2nd place & Sam Brown taking a hard fought 3rd place on Saturday, Jack Godfrey returned to his normal pace on Sunday to take the 3rd , Matty Morris made short work of the oppersition in the 10yrs & over auto quad race taking both 1st place positions Jordan Hickman got 2nd with tom Issac in 3rd on Sat, Callum Owen got 2nd & lady racer Grace Keitch finished in 3rd on Sunday. Alex Bone topped the under 10yrs quad class with two hard fought wins with Brett Currall taking 2nd & Chloe Keitch taking 3rd on sat & an outstanding 2nd place on Sunday. Organisers of the WFOR would like to say a big well done to all the riders it really was a tough weekend for you all and it cant get much harder & a massive thank you to all the marshalls who give up their free time to make the club such a success And a special thanks to Matt Hicks for all his hard work in the track prep and sorry about the mess….
