RAF Ardua  Bagshot 29-01-2012 Report Rich Troth What a superb 7.5 mile technical course with extra long special test put on by the RAFMSA at Bagshot. What a great day for Team Edmondson with Lee Edmondson winning the Championship Class in what can only be described as pure class, runner up was crowd favourite and Lee Edmondson’s team mate Rich Ely who rode his socks off and is definitely getting back to his former form, also from the Edmondson camp Brad Freeman won the Clubman class. TBEC’s third celebration evening once again was most enjoyable. Awards were issued to the winners of the 2011 Championship and we congratulate for a 2nd year running the Overall Champion 1st : Daniel Haskett. Well done also to Lee Smith 2nd and Matt Willis 3rd. This night highlights what a fun and friendly bunch of members we have the pleasure of knowing and riding with. We are all looking forward to the 2012 season.

Enduro News was started in 1998 by Bob Mullins to promote the 1999 2nd round of the FIM World Enduro Championship held in Llandovery  Enduro is the offroad motorcycle equivalent of car rallying. Riders follow a marked course & compete over timed stages. It requires the technical ability of Trials & the speed of Motocross. As well as the ATV machines made by Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki & Kawasaki there are specialists manufacturers such  KTM, BMW, Husaberg, Husqvarna, GasGas, TM, Sherco & Aprilia. The machines require tough suspension & road legal Mx tyres. Tyre manufacturers such as  Metzeler Maxxis Michelin & Pirelli sponsor the events. There is an aftermarket parts industry with Acerbis plastics, Renthal handlebars. FMF exhausts, The riding gear is also specially made by suppliers such as Sinisalo, No Fear, Thor, Scott, Oakley goggles, Fox, Alpinestar boots,  Aria, Airoh helmets.

The Llandrillo Forest 4/5th February . We have great pleasure in announcing the venue for the RED / Play day on February 4th and the first round of the club championship on Sunday 5th February. We will be using one of our superb Forest venues up on the B4391. The Llandrillo Forest. A flowing and big lap of mixed forest going that will cater for all abilites will ensure a great start to the 2012 racing campaign... The course will suit all riders from youth through to adult and novice through to Experienced... Venues will start changing once we get into March onwards and the open farm type venues will be back in abundance. RideoffroadUK start the 2012 IOPD Doodson UK National Hare & Hounds Championship high on the Lancashire hills at the popular Lee Dell venue on February 5th.
As we enter the fifth year of rideoffroadUK enduro events, we have included two double header weekends where riders can earn double points, by riding two separate scoring races, running on the Saturday and Sunday.
The idea is to try save competitors money on travel costs and preparation time as the economic situation enters the recovery stage. To add to that, all registered rideoffroadUK club members are now able to save money on entries by pre paying 7 days+ in advance, this saves £10 over the pay on day prices, but is strictly limited to loyal club members.
Weather permitting, the course for Round 1 makes a welcome return to the east loop including the MX track and open moor land going. This outfield loop has not been used since August 2011. It always proves popular with riders giving lots of track to get going and open up on. With on going ground works at Lee Dell starting to take shape, Wayne Braybrook has yet another fresh new track in mind to keep riders on their toes.
For Round one, until the clocks change, we will be running the Youth event on Sunday morning at 8.30am, this will be followed by the highly popular Sportsman, Beginner, Over50 and Ladies race starting at 10am. After a short break for results and presentation, the Expert, Over40 and Clubman riders will hit the dirt for 2.5 hours around the Lancashire hills.

5th Feb Round 2 Thorncombe Nr Bridport What can I say this track has everything an Enduro rider could ask for! Grassy, open moorland , no shortage of wooded areas and two hilly stubble fields, one for the start area and the second to break up the woodland sections. Plus rocky streams beds , some 3rd and 4th gear flowing open going and plenty of air time inc a tabletop! You will have to concentrate for every second. I can’t wait, six to seven miles of cross country Heaven. This track will be one of the best Enduro tracks you will ride, the 2012 season has the most magnificent tracks you will find anywhere.

TOTAL ENDURO THE HELMSLEY XC 11/12th FEB - Round 1 NEXC Helmsley - Total enduro are back in action on 11/12TH February with the opening round of the 8 round North of England X country series , using the all weather Roppa Moor forest just north of Helmsley , Graham Jarvis has been up plotting a route using only the best trails with plenty of room for passing to ensure a flowing enjoyable event for all abilities .
The ride time for the adult lap will be around 14 minutes a large portion of this will be part of the special test for the British Enduro championship round in April. The format is a practice day on the Saturday starting at 10am finishing 3 pm open to youth and adults. Sunday youth race 9 am duration 90 minutes 11.30am adults 2.5 hours. As with all Total Enduro events you can book in online right up to the Thursday night prior to the event rewarding prepaying riders with a £40 adult entry fee and £30 youth ,you can also pre enter by posting in the entry form. Pay on the day will available but it's the normal entry rate of £50 adult £40 youth. 12th February - TBEC Enduro - Ashby Moto Park Leicestershire - entry closes 9th February -  We are opening this event up to Day Members - All Welcome - Regs Trail Bike Enduro Club’s 1st Event of 2012 our 25th Year, lots more classes this year and something for everybody, some championships only over 3 rounds to give more people a chance to have a try in a championship. Also this is the 1st round of the TBEC County Championship been held over 10 rounds in 9 different counties everybody scores in this championship you just have to be on the results to score points for your county. 2nd Round in Bedfordshire March 11th 2012. Rhayader Motor Club are busy planning their forthcoming Jack Frost Enduro. This event will take place on Sunday 18th March & will start from Saintswell Practise Track (LD1 6PT), nr Rhayader, Mid Wales. First riders will start at 10.00am. The route will be approx 12 miles per lap with 2 Checks (both checks are located at the start/finish area). The special test will also be at the start/finish area, using parts of the motocross track at Saintswell. There are classes for Clubman, Overs 40’s & Beginners. Regs

18th March Round 3 Matterley Nr Winchester In the motorcycling world, we all know Matterley as the venue for the British round of the World Grand Prix Championship in 2006 and later that year in September for MX of Nations , featuring the magnificent battle between Stefan Everts and Bubba Stuart ! Thankfully back on the calendar for the 2011 World Grand Prix. Although we do not use the GP motor cross track, as it is unsuitable for enduro, we do have available to us, some of the best areas of the estate with lots of elevation and plenty of character plus wooded areas spread across the landscape. This will become an annual event with a 5-6 mile course. The magnificent Matterley Estate is probably best known to the public for housing the US Army Boxing Tournament in 1944, featuring Joe Louis. This incredible fight took place in Matterley’s huge natural amphitheatre to boost moral for the troops .

22nd April Round 4 Melplash Nr Beaminster.Set in a huge valley with hills on both sides. From the parking area view point 70% of the course is visible. The course consists of hilly going, woodland gulley’s and off cambers. Much of the course is on grassland within this unique Sheep Farm.
