Rhayader Motor Club
is introducing 2 new events to the summer enduro calendar. These will be two Evening Hare ‘n Hounds to take place on Saturday Evening 4th July & Saturday Evening 25th July. These will be held at the Club’s Cwmythig Hill off road complex, which is near Rhayader, Mid-Wales. Both these events will have classes for the following – Experts, Clubman, Beginners & Over 40’s. The lap will include parts of the popular hillside motocross circuit at Cwmythig as well as nearby fields making up a lap of approx 4 miles. This will be very similar to the “Special Test” for the forthcoming British Enduro Championship to take place later in the year (so if you’re looking for some valuable practice here’s your chance). The site at Cwmythig also boasts a large hard standing paddock, excellent viewing, permanent toilets & a tarmac drive. Overnight camping is also available. Entry limit is restricted to 120, so if you fancy a good night out get your entries in soon! For further information check out the Club’s revamped website – www.rdmcc.co.uk Regs Round 1 Round 2

Rich Warner wins Rd 1 Tea Til nearly Dark

Conditions could not of been much better for Rd 1 of the Tea Til Nearly Dark evening series, a nice cool evening greeted the 80 riders who had managed to get off work early to compete in this always popular event.

Bang on six o’clock the Experts were away on the 4 mile course with Team REME’s very own Mike Bailey getting the Holeshot (Not bad as he has only just returned from Op’s and was given the bike to ride an hour before the event). He was closely followed by the ever competitive Rich Warner with every one else chasing hard. Rich took up the lead soon after the woop’s section where Mike made a mistake. James Jackman was pushing hard as always and made his way up into second and this is how the next two hours of racing finished. At one point the organiser thought James had run out of fuel? Because for most of the race he was that close to Rich Warner they thought he was being towed. We must not forget MX GP rider Scott Elderfield who was constantly pushing hard in third place but just could not latch on to the tail end of the Enduro riders.

At the end of the 2 hours Rich Warner (right) and James Jackman finished within 6 seconds of each other. Clubman Class was won by Roger Frean who was nearly 1 lap ahead of his nearest rival. Dave Salkeld came in with the honours for the Over 40’s class 1 lap ahead of Scottie Coombes and Marc Morley-Freer won the Sportsman class by 6 minutes. Round 2 will take place at the same venue but with a different course on July 1st. Don’t forget there will be prizes for the top 3 in each class after all 3 rounds have run. Round 2 European Enduro Championship 2009
Tokod Hungary May 2009 = E1 4t Class - Yamaha WR 250
Result - Day 1 - 18th Day 2 - 15th

The European enduro championship has certainly become a lot more competitive since the world championship became more restrictive on entries. Now there are plenty of world class riders competing in this championship. So while 18th and 15th don't look to be the best results these were pretty good given the competition and certainly among the British contingent were very comparable. Full report

Pattinson Takes Millionaires Win.

An unusual thing happened this Sunday ( 7th June). Sir John Ropner invited 150 members of the North Riding Enduro Club, to ride around his private estate. The invite was snapped up, and 11am saw the riders set off in what was to be one of the best events of the year. The Thorpe H&H.

North Yorkshire. Conditions were perfect. Sunshine, though not too hot. Damp ground to kill the dust, yet plenty of grip. The berms built up to inspire confidence, and the smiles got wider as the event went on.
