Holcombe Clinches Enduro 3 World Championship With Winning Ride In France Beta Factory Racing’s Steve Holcombe has won the 2019 FIM Enduro 3 World Championship in Ambert, France. Holcombe secured the title by riding to victory on the opening day of competition at the final round of the 2019 series, claiming his fifth consecutive FIM Enduro World Championship. In what proved to be a day of triumph for the Beta rider, Holcombe knew that an Enduro 3 class win on Saturday would cement the championship with one day to spare. Holding an 18-point lead entering the French event he began the day cautiously but settled into his rhythm as he ended the opening lap. Setting the fastest Enduro 3 time on four of the day’s nine special tests, in delivering a strong opening lap he maintained his class advantage and raced on to victory, clinching the 2019 Enduro 3 World Championship in style. Despite 2019 being an illness-hit championship campaign, due to contracting the Epstein Barr Virus, Holcombe still took 10 race wins from 13 starts on his way to becoming a five-time world champion. His 2019 title crowns Steve as Great Britain’s most-decorated Enduro World Champion. The Enduro World Championship concludes with the final day of racing in Ambert, France on Sunday 29 September, where Holcombe still has a mathematical chance of successfully defending his EnduroGP crown.
