The Tarrenig Rally The Tarrenig Rally on Sunday 10th of May, is back after a year out of the calendar due to Hafren Dirt Bike clubs commitments with the last years World Round. GT Wall & Sons have kindly stepped in as the sponsor for 09. This years event will be very similar to two years with a few improvements to the 35 mile lap, and 3 special stages, and using the same start area which seemed to go down well last time, the field down below the Glan Severn pub right next to the river Wye. Other News Ollie Moyce wins in Kent The warm spring weather & a new 3.5 mile lap in perfect condition attracted a field of 160 riders to the Garden of England this weekend for a Putoline Fast Eddy non championship event at Lodge Hill camp, Chattenden. In the Youth race "little Ed" Jack Edmondson took the overall win on a 65cc & Jake Deacon was the runner up. In the Adult race Ollie Moyce - on a Midwest Husaberg - took the lead from the second corner & held it to win by a clear margin of 5 minutes. The battle for 2nd place between Richard Ely & Nick Ames came down to a dash for the final corner with Richard snatching the runner up award, Veteran Peter Clark kept pace with the Experts to complete 18 laps & finish was 4th. Fellow vet Graham Farquer was 5th. After the race Ollie said "The event was very good due to the course layout and how good the weather has been. It was really enjoyable". Results

Woodland win for Wakely at Inside Park Some things baffle me. Just before we ground to a halt under some of the heaviest snow we've seen for years some Government advisor was telling us how the effects of global warming would be wetter, warmer winters and hey presto, it's magically a cold one. Now, those of a cynical nature might be thinking our hard-earned tax-payers cash is being squandered on Gucci suits and designer side-partings, but fear-not, the very same advisor tells us that when he said wetter and warmer, he simply meant it as an example of an extreme of weather which is, apparently, what we've just experienced - just the exact opposite of the example he gave. Simple Whether it was a carbon-induced phenomenon, or simply the type of good old-fashioned winter we had when I were a lad back in the, ahem, 80's, I was more than happy to be given an excuse to my Enduro bike to work when all others seemed to be marooned on their driveway. Sunday the 1st of March saw Ride-XC visit Back Cowm Quarry for the running of the first ever outdoor Endurocross. With weeks of planning and course building under their belt plenty of effort and time had gone in to getting this event off the ground and the team were rewarded with good weather at the famous trials venue which had been carefully chosen due to its all weather facilities and excellent amenities.
