At the end of what has been a hugely challenging season David Knight has claimed victory at the final round of the '09 World Enduro Championship, the GP of France staged in St Flour. Other News The Chiltern Hills Enduro Club (CHEC) bounced back on the 6th of September with a cracking nine mile course laid out at Lane End. As well as the well renowned woods, which contain some of the racers favourites like ‘the bomb hole’ and several steep flinty climbs, the club also had access to the recently harvested crop fields. This meant that some high speed action could be added to the tight woodland going. So it was a race of two half’s, tight woods for the smaller and lighter 2T’s and fast opening going for the big 4T’s to claw back some time. There was a good turnout for the club's comeback race, and once again there has been nothing but praise for the track layout and organisation. Returning to a more novice friendly culture, the riders were sent on their way in number sequence - this sequence coming from order of registering and not the old championship standings. After four hours of racing, Jack Turner came out on top in the overall standings, followed by Dan Heelas in second place. Jack was one of only five riders that managed to complete ten full laps in the allocated time and crucially was the only one not to score any penalties. Results Red Bike John's report Photos

The club had made a conscious decision to nip up the times this year, so that most riders in each class lost time on the course, hence the test was used only to split the tie breaks between riders who had lost the same time on the course. - Details
