A dream start for KTM and Honda but a few long faces at BMW

  Results

The first round of the 2009 WEC is being held in Portugal at PenafieI set in the hills just east of Porto and every hillside has villages and there seems a lack of traditional going on which to run a proper enduro. The weather is fantastic with blue skies and warm sunshine-just what the spectators would wish for but for the British contingent in means taking on lots of fliuds and coping with very hard, dry and dusty going. Clash of the Titans@Tettbury

The unusually warm early spring weather continued for the first round of the Hewitt National Cross Country Championship on Sunday 22nd March at Chavenage Farm near Tetbury.

There was no need for an alarm as the morning chorus sang out at 5.30am. In the clear blue sky above, the silver undersides of jets at the tip of their jetstreams were lit by the before dawn sun like falling stars. While below the stars of the Enduro world descended on Gloucester at the start of a perfect day. Details

Greg's bikes stolen

Thieving scumbags broke into Greg Evans' workshop in the early hours of Saturday 14th March & stole 3 bikes including his WEC KTM. The theft was particularly infuriating as Greg had been working hard all week to prepare his race bike for the first round of the WEC in Portugal. His plan to leave the next day were put on hold but unlike the scumbags, Greg is an indefatigable competitor with good friends. While the Police investigated the theft, Wayne Mounter stepped in & lent Greg a Six Day Special. Greg had to work against the clock in Wayne's workshop to fit his own shocks, exhaust & other mods. I am sure we all wish Greg & the Police the best of luck. Details
