There are not so many enduros where the organising club sets out to take time off everybody, but that's what the Barrow Club set out to do at the recent Graythwaite Enduro - and they succeeded admirably. In the pre event briefing main organiser Paul Richardson told the gathered riders who made up the 120 strong entry that the event would be won and lost on the course and not on the single cross country test, and he was dead right. None of the riders managed to stay within the ever-tightening time schedule, though a few came close. Perhaps one of the reasons the club found it easy to take time off everybody was the nature of the course. It was primarily a slow, single track path through the Lake District forest adjacent to Windermere without fire roads to make up a bit of time.

Aaahhh... the great outdoors in Gloucestershire's picturesque Cotwolds... where better for a pleasant day out in warm Spring sunshine? Clearly, 154 willing souls were equally adamant that Cirencester Park was the place to be last Sunday, as they were all champing-at-the-bit to blast off out of the Polo Grounds and circumnavigate the fantastic 22 mile track laid out by Swindon DMCC. The line up for the Sunday's Rhayader Youth Motocross club's adult class read like the entry list of a BEC round with some of the country's top enduro riders at the gate. For Paul Edmondson Rhayader has become a regular family weekend away supporting his lads - Harry & Jack - but yesterday he & uncle Lee (left) took off their jackets & joined in alongside Greg "Special" Evans plus Ashley Wood & Charlie Evans of the Gas Gas Uk team to show the kids that you can go just as quick with or without a headlight. Ride-XC staged one of their popular Enduro/XC practice/fun days at Abram Motopark Wigan Lancashire on Sunday. With the Northwest having enjoyed excellent weather conditions the all weather practice venue was in stunning shape over the weekend this being rewarded by a staggering amount of riders who turned up to brush up on their off road skills at this XC facility. Riders were given the opportunity to ride all day if they wished, only having to stop for the free lunch buffet which was served at 12.30 ensuring all riders had enough energy to take advantage of the afternoons offerings. Last weekend, Rudy and the Pro Moto Billet/Off Camber Yamaha team headed for round 5 of the Can Am GNCC held at Loretta Lynn's ranch , Tennessee. With a torrential downpour which started Saturday evening, and didn't let up until just prior to the drop of the flag at lunch on Sunday, the conditions would prove to be the toughest of the season so far. Cotswold Enduro Club ran round 1 of the Rock Oil 2009 British Amca Hare & Hound Championship at the spectacular Shuckburgh Hall near Daventry on Sunday 19th April. Set in a private Deer Park and with the majority of the track set amongst broad leaf and pine woodland with a small open field section, hills banks, bogs, descents, cambers made for a fairly tough event but I think most riders enjoyed the challenge. 7 of the Army's finest Enduro Riders plus Army sponsored MX hotshot Ashley Thomas stormed the gates of Track KG5 last Tuesday. The morning was spent attacking the newly developed Enduro cross course, casualties were kept to a minimum; all obstacles were assaulted with the full vigour of her Majesty's Forces.
