Farioli KTM David Knight had a double win at the re-scheduled 2nd round of the Metzeler ACU British Enduro Championship in Lossiemouth. It was a sunny weekend in Scotland but the sun didn't shine brightly on Greg Evans' first day. An electrical problem cost him 15 minutes of penalty points. The Putoline Suzuki Fast Eddy Team were in top form with Tom Sagar taking 2nd on both days & Paul Edmondson in 4th & 3rd. Overnight showers did nothing to dampen the sense of anticipation for the first round of the 2010 GBXC series at Coney Green farm near Stourport, it simply soften the brick red soil into an ideal ground for good racing. The Wyre forest venue is a spectacular location close to the M5 where the wooded Areley hill ponders the Severn River as it flows south out of Bewdley. The parking area was excellent & the paddock was a blaze of Putoline, Suzuki & Goldentyres sponsors banners. Optoma Loans donated the prizes & the whole event was filmed by the Blood, Sweat & Gears. Sunday was overcast & cool but dry. 250 riders were signed on. The morning race was for the Vets, Sportsman, Youths & Ladies & used a slightly modified course. In the Vets Adrian Bradley from Solihull was the overall winner with 10 laps from Jack Twentyman & Richard Main was 3rd. The Sportsman class went Ryan Armitage from Sheffield, 2nd.Jeremy Callow & 3rd Jamie Callow. Jane Daniels was the best Lady with 9 laps ahead of Helen Spiers on 8 laps & Gemma Holthan was 3rd. Rob Edwards from Oswestry won the Hobby class with 8 laps, Tom Granger was 2nd & Gavin Tatchell from Maesteg was 3rd.
For the first time in a few years, the conditions were fine and dry at the very popular venue of Gisburn in Lancashire, for Round 4 National Putoline Hare Scramble run by Dirtbike-Traxs. The fantastic turnout of riders for both days proves that Gisburn is still as popular as ever, as usual, the crowds were drawn to the infamous Barnes Banks. They were entertained all day by the number of the thrills and spills as the adult riders from every class pinned the throttle in an attempt to conquer the steep hill sections. Report

Round 2 of the Rock Oil British AMCA Hare & Hound Championship took place at the picturesque Private Deer Park of Shuckburgh Hall in Warwickshire. This venue has a formidable reputation for being one of the most testing tracks if its wet. Many a rider in the past being pleased to have managed 2 laps in 3 hours. Report & Results

Sunday's SCEC event at Somerley Park helped bolster still further the venue's reputation as one of the best all weather enduro venues in the South. Not surprisingly the event was oversubscribed and the circuit was reckoned by most to be the best there yet. Gary Wright took the headline Championship class over Front Row's Stan Watt. Andy Claxton lead the Expert class all race and must have thought the race was his, but it wasn't to be, Dan Lawry had been keeping just a little more in reserve and come the last lap snuk by for the win. Danny Andrews and Dan Groom took the E1 & E2 respectively, Pete Archer the Vets, Clare Taylor the Ladies, Carl Pennington the Sportsman, Neil Fripp the Sportsman Vets and Dave Sawtell the Novice class. Greg wins @ Boussac 21 British riders arrived to hot and sunny welcome in Boussac France for the 1st round of the UEM championships on Wednesday. Those staying on the local campsite were greeted by the Naked receptionist and quickly realised that the rumours of a Naturist camp were TRUE. Report & Results
Husqvarna UK rider Si Wakely has made a positive start to his participation in the ’10 European Enduro Championship placing third and fourth in the competitive Senior Enduro 1 class at the opening round of the series staged in Boussac, central France. Following on from his impressive results in both the British Enduro Championship opener and the first four rounds of the British Enduro Sprint Championship, Wakely now sits equal third in the Senior E1 championship standings. The Close Motor Finance Metzeler Melville Scottish Championship Enduro venue is under threat with the reinstatement of the Borders rain link. Special dispensation was required to run the event last weekend at its current location. 148 riders on Saturday and a 100 on Sunday enjoyed two days of riding which proved the perfect balance between toughness and enjoyment. Saturday started with a covering of mist that cleared as the day went on with glorious sunshine leading to some fair skinned Scots suffering from dehydration at the end of the day. Before the event there was a short presentation as the trophies were presented for the Melville Cross Country Championship with D3's Murray Thomson taking the top award. Grant Smith also collected the Trevor Hay Outstanding Achievement Award for his efforts in the Portuguese ISDE and Steven Currie Junior collected the Rab Paton Memorial Trophy as best Sportsman newcomer 2009. Portsmouth motor cycle racing club started their session on Sunday 18th April, the track was surprisingly dry for April, overnight rain was enough to dampen the dust. The dry conditions fooled many a rider as the ditches were not dry at the bottom ! and a few riders found not hoisting the front wheel chucks you over the bars. 105 riders from first timer to championship class started with 83 managing to finish the 3hr event. Rob Carey won the Maunder Trophy and round 1 of the Major Hadley trophy finishing just 29 seconds ahead of Simon Beken who's switched to a KTM 250 EXC from the 530EXC. Results
One of the primary goals of the newly formed ACU British Enduro Sprint Championship is to provide a high profile platform from which to develop up-and-coming, young talent. Put simply, the BESC aims to make enduro racing simpler and less daunting for competitors from outside the sport, while giving seasoned enduro campaigners a competition driven series, one focused purely on special test racing.
