Encouraging end to ’08 WEC season for Wakely with two top 10 results at GP of Europe MPS Racing Husqvarna team’s Si Wakely brought his participation in the ’08 World Enduro Championship to a positive end as the TE 450 mounted rider finished both days of the GP of Europe inside the top 10 of the Enduro Junior class. With the final round of the series, staged in Mende, France, a fitting and challenging end to the championship Wakely placed eighth on day one before bettering his position by one position on day two with seventh. The final round of the popular national putoline hare scramble championship took place at Driffield east Yorkshire last weekend organised by TGOR . Despite the unfortunate clash with Weston beach race [ we have to take the dates allocated to us by the mod] the Driffield event attracted over 400 riders a staggering achievement . The course comprised of 5 plantations linked by grass and chalk tracks had undergone a lot of hard work over the pervious month ,the course is a lot wider than in previous events with the inclusion of quads in Sundays race timetable the course under went considerable widening benefiting the solos as well. Thumb injuries spoil '08 WEC final for Electraction TM UK team Both Electraction TM UK team riders Euan McConnell (left) and Gordon Clarke (below left) suffered thumb injuries at the final round of the '08 World Enduro Championship, the GP of Europe staged in Mende, France, which forced them to retire from the opening day's competition. With neither rider crashing, both hit their hands on post used to mark the special tests. McConnell ripped the nail off his thumb and found it too painful to continue while Clarke was left with a badly swollen hand after his thumb was bent backwards. While McConnell was able to compete on day two Clarke's injuries were simply too painful and he was unable to start on day two. Details

A weekend of uninterrupted sunshine drew record crowds to Weston Super Mare for the 26th running of the Doodson Motorsport Beach Race. The 3.5 mile circuit was in perfect condition. Double winner David Knight took the hole shot but after a 3 hour battle 10 times world champion Stefan Everts took the win. It was the Belgian MXer's second. Shaun Simpson was runner on his Weston debut. 2005 winner Paul Edmondson was 7th. Congratulations to "ironmen" Greg Evans 9th & Gavin Houson 47th for 2 great finishes on pinned legs. Team Gas Gas Uk spannerman, Luke Meredith had a fantastic result finishing 12th on his EC250. Jeremie Warna from France won the Quads race on Saturday & John Mitchell was the runner up. Greg Evans had a very successful "try out" on his new KTM Uk W-Mounter 250 excf last weekend at Wilden Lane Motocross ahead of riding in the 4th round of the European Enduro Championship in Holland on the 17/18th October. Greg had 3 wins in the Expert Open Class. "I'm looking forward to riding the 4 stroke in Holland & getting a good result". said Greg. He will be riding in the Weston Beach Race next weekend.

The Natterjack - 5th round of the British Enduro Championship - took place on the 27/28th September at Longmoor camp near Bordon. Due to a clash of dates with the WEC GP of Italy, only 6 riders entered the Championship class but there was no lack of excitement as young guns Ashley Wood, Jon Hinam, James Jackman & Ollie Moyce shot it out with veteran Richard Hay. Ride-XC got underway again this weekend after a short layoff with the running of their 'Back from the Ashes Enduro'. After a late venue change because of recent bad weather an entirely new course was plotted by the Ride-XC team at their Abram Motopark venue. With the week running up to the event blessed with sunshine it seemed to be too good to be true, when the Ride-XC team woke on Sunday morning to be greeted by even more sunshine. With an excellent entry seeing all the local faces and friends in the Enduro world taking part in Ride-XC's first event, the stage had been set for some cracking racing. Report ![]() Norwood Teversal, a welcome return. The rideoffroaduk team headed to Norwood near Teversal in Nott's for the final round of the Summer Series for 2008. Norwood was the host for many televised scrambles during the 60's and 70's and was last used for MX over 10 years ago, Wayne Braybrook and his team spent the week leading up to the event plotting an entirely new Enduro multi lap loop which was to see all riders having the chance to compete in perfect conditions for a full two and a half hours at this fantastic venue. Metzeler Melville Scottish Enduro Championship Yarrowford Selkirk Report: Campbell Chatham Photos: Mike Biagi. 130 riders enjoyed glorious weather at the penultimate round of the Scottish Enduro Championship at Broadmeadows farm in Yarrowford near Selkirk. Clear sky and sunshine made this one of the most enjoyable events at this location. Kenny Donaldson and his team had avoided the worst wet patches to ensure the majority of riders would complete the 25 mile course. There were natural jumps and steep climbs that stood up well despite the rain leading up to the weekend. Full report & results

The Dirtbike-traxs team were forced into a last minute venue change as the proposed venue at Gisburn Lancashire was water logged another casualty of the poor summer we have experienced in the north west of England, however the north east of England has not been quite as badly effected so the Dirtbike-traxs team switched to the dry Woodhouse venue at Great Ayton.
