Round 2 of the trend setting SCEC/Rogershill Raceway evening series proved once again that these guys have got the formula pretty well spot on. Whether it was the promise of the superb Pro-Clean product prizes or the promise of another great evening's racing who knows - but well over a 100 riders signed up for the event in spite of forecasts of torrential rain and gale force winds - and their faith was rewarded as the race took place in glorious summer evening sunshine with a gentle breeze to keep things comfy. The 5 mile circuit was almost entirely a cross-country affair with the customary added Rogershill optional extreme sections. Without a shadow of doubt the star of the night was local MX coach Paul Cowshall, who having blown up his 250SXF that morning while on coaching duties, borrowed a 250SX from one of his customers and totally blitzed the thing. Unfortunately Paul didn't reckon on the increased thirst of the 2 stroke and ran out of petrol on the last lap, but unbelievably he was so close to the finish he was just able to push over the line and still take 2nd place. Only seconds separated the top 4 and Paul's misfortune allowed Mark Cornick to sneak by and grab the win while TM star Ben Milward and FrontRow's Stan Watt ended their race long battle in 3rd and 4th respectively. Pete Archer kept the Aprilia upright this time and took a convincing in the Vets while smooth riding Andy Claxton once again dominated the Clubman class. Best Moto-X rider was Mark Young in 13th overall and best Sportsman of the night was Ben Bosely who managed a highly creditable 28th overall. Full report to follow.... Results Other

3rd time lucky
- with the weather!!! After a couple of years of monsoon weekends, the Ryedale Rally enjoyed almost perfect weather conditions for its 2 day event through the North Yorkshire Moors and Forests at the beginning of July 2009. It was a very well supported rally and the organisers were sad to have to close entries and disappoint a number of potential riders - we really missed some of the colourful regular characters.
