The hugely successful ACU British Sprint Championship reached it's climax at the spectacular Saints Well farm, Nr Rhayader on May 29/30th . 2 weeks of dry weather had parched the soil enough for the organisers to order up a sprinkler to keep down the dust but their efforts proved unnecessary as a cold front swept over Wales on Friday night bringing with it a steady series of drizzly showers. In the pit the riders looked to their tyres & those that could fitted soft MXers. The sighting laps started at 9.00am. The riders
descended into the valley & crossed a stream by a wooden bridge before
climbing the far slope to the tree line. Their stuttering progress could
be clearly seen from the start. They then returned across the valley to a
man made extreme section of logs & tyres before complete the MX course
to the finish. Full Report. Results Round

![]() Jarvis is the master at the Putoline Dirtzberg The Dirtbike action crew were at woodhouse for the second running of the Putoline Dirtzberg Hare Scramble , the woodhouse venue is set high on a hillside overlooking the village of Great Ayton North Yorkshire, the weekend started on the Saturday with a well supported practice day, with many of the practice day riders camping over to witness the Dirtzberg spectacle, John kerwin and Graham Jarvis had designed a challenging course, building several man made spectator sections and then using the steep woodhouse terrain incorporating its best features to provide the rider with a challenge that they would remember, as Sunday dawned ,lots of the riders were getting to the venue early and off walking around the course to see what was in store for them, but they were all ready and on the line for the 10 am start , with a good expert line up, with many of them going to Ertzberg in a week or so time this event would provide some good practice . John kerwin briefed the riders under the now baking sun and at 10am sharp the dirtzberg extreme hare scramble was under way, Graham Jarvis was straight into the lead with the rat pack duo of Woods and Myers , The Biffstar , Lee Sampson , Dave Wilson, Oliver Hart chasing hard, Jarvis was first back to race control having styled it over the logs section, while lee Sampson in second on his new Shirt gas gas had buried his bike in the tricky swamp crossing but staying cool he took his helmet and gloves off and wrestled the bike out, in the mean time the chasing experts had past him with the Biffstar leading the chase, but Jarvis was in control superbly mastering the off camber climbs, the steep descents and the swamp crossing which was to end many a riders day . David Myers had moved in to second with Luke Lusher in third , lee Sampson was pushing hard and making major progress through the expert field after his earlier bog encounter , as the race approached the half way stage Graham Jarvis on the factory Sherco had lapped everyone at least once , in the second half of the race Graham Grimbo Jarvis picked up the pace and blitzed the last hour lapping the top expert for a third time, Lee Sampson showed true character after the early bog incident he had now push into 3rd place and was closing in on Myers but he was beaten by the clock , as Grimbo took the win from david Myers 2nd and lee Sampson 3rd , in the clubman class Daz Cowan was the winner from Nathan Bolton with Luke Flack putting in and amazing performance on the ktm 85 to finish 3rd , the sports man class was won by Mike Gilby with Liam Radcliffe in second with no other sportsmen completing the course . all the finisher in the various classes can be pleased as the course certainly tested everyone to the maximum in the searing heat which was in the 80's. The club will certainly run another extreme event this year offering the riders something different . the dirtbike-action team are in action on the 29th may with an xc/enduro practice day at Helmsley north Yorkshire.

On Sunday 16th May the conditions couldn’t have been more opposite to our last visit to our 7.5 mile, Castle Park Venue. Riding conditions were perfect with the woods hard packed and regarded and the MX track in tip top shape. The sandy MX track, with 2 large table top jumps lay in the grassy field with its yellow tape flapping all around looked a picture set against the pine forest on one side and the broad leafed woodland stretching out for miles on the other. And as the riders entered the forest they were met by a sea of Blue Bells! Report
