Beacons 2 Day
20/21st August
At times this weekend's Beacons 2 Day Rally resembled
one of WTRA's more notorious BEC rounds of yesteryear as a cold front
swept in from the Atlantic and drenched the Crychan forest but the
similarity was mostly cosmetic as the well laid out course held up and
rewarded the majority of the full entry with a great ride.

After the last two consecutive rounds of mud and slop for the Dirtbike-Taxs

Putoline and Eurotek KTM sponsored Northern Counties Hare & Hounds
championship. The Dirtbike-Traxs team put a lot of effort into making the
track a bit better and a bit different the previous week, a full day with a
digger ironed out some of the rough spots and a couple of variations to the
route made for a fantastic weekend of XC racing. With not a drop of rain on
the area for at least a week, the ground was hard and dust was going to be a
major factor for the riders and the organiser. Full

Saturday 6th August
Midwest MCC made a welcome return
to Twinhoe, Midford near Bath after a break of 3 years. The event was
run on a Saturday to allow the gentle folk of Midford to enjoy their
Sunday morning devotions in peace and tranquility.
The Adult race was
flagged away at 11.00am. The weather was warm and sunny. The start was up a steep
hill that spread out the field before filtering the riders through a gate
into the lap for real. Dan Beavan took
the holeshot ahead of Arran Wells and Arron Smith was 3rd. 5 minutes before the
start Arron had an anxious moment when his float got jammed and petrol
poured out of his Husaberg. Fortunately some vigorous tapping with
the starter's flagpole on the carb shook the float loose. Danny Andrews
was less lucky. His KTM took 40 minutes to fire up but despite the lost
time he put in 13 laps. Report &

Dan’s the Man Report Rich Troth
SRMCC annual Jack Stoker trophy looked liked entries were going to be
very low especially due to the previous few days weather but on the day
the day entries turned up in their droves and SRMCC had done a few
different twists to the course used last time including the big hill jump

the 6 mile length and as regulars know that when its wet or has been
raining the track becomes very slippery indeed due to the hard surface

Daryl
Bolter wins final round but James Giddings wins series
Team REME Summer Championship Report by Al Cook
James Giddings (left) of KORR Racing won the overall Championship of the
closely contested Team REME KTM Summer Evening Series without even
cocking his leg over a bike for the last round. James was in Finland for
the 2011 ISDE and so was absent from the Expert line up. He had already
done enough in the last 3 rounds to secure the Championship. Just behind
by 1 point was his ISDE team mate James Jackman who was also on
International duties. Roger Frean tried hard on Wednesday to claim the
win but it was just not to be, I don't think anybody was going to beat
Daryl Bolter (KORR Racing) as he was riding like his bike was on rails!!
Tom Moore claimed the Vet's honours, being totally consistent
throughout the series and winning the class by 12 points over Dave
Grover & Berni Macrea who both finished on 40 points.
Gareth Hughes won the Clubman Championship in Convincing style by
winning every round and having a clean sweep of 60 points. Following
Gareth was Darren Mason & Dan Lewis in joint 2nd position on 47
points. We will see you in the Expert class next time Gareth?
Paul Cook won the Sportsman Championship. Having been consistent over
the last 3 rounds everyone thought Paul had thrown away the Championship
by only coming 4th on Wednesday night but Paul had obviously done his
Maths and worked out that was all he needed to secure victory. (Clubman
next event Paul?). Second went to Oliver Macrea just 2 points behind
Paul with Elliot Davies a few points back (after missing the 1st round)
but still a good 3rd overall.
Look forward now for Team REME KTM is running the Natterjack Enduro (BEC)
on 24/25 Sept.
There is also plans for a winter series as usual but starting a bit
earlier this year, one of these rounds may well be a 6 hour Ironman/Team
Hare & Hound so keep looking on the Team Website for further
details.

CHAMPIONS AT RHAYADER!
Rhayader Youth MX Club 'RYMXC' held the Final Round of the BSMA Welsh
Open Championship along side Round 10 of the Club Champs on Sunday 26th
July 2011 at Saint Wells Track Nr Rhayader. With a good turn out of riders
the scene was set for a brilliant days racing with warm sunny weather and
the track looking good.
A good entry of over 40 riders competed in Rhayader Motor Clubs Hare 'n
Hounds at Cwmythig Hill last Saturday evening. The Club had set out a
3-mile circuit including the popular Hillside motocross circuit as well as
nearby fields, which resulted in some excellent racing in all classes.
Merthyr Tydfil Expert rider Rhys Davies led the field away from the
mass start, but hot on his heels was Clubman rider Luke Williams (Welshpool).
But by the end of the gruelling 1½ hour non-stop race it was Williams who
took the honours with 13 laps to his credit, while Ryan Faulks (Guilsfield)
took runner-up spot 3½ minutes down on Williams. Martin Rowan (Llandrindod
Wells) & Aaron Bates (Rhayader) fought all night for 3rd spot, both
swapping places several times before Rowan pulled out an 18 second lead
over youngster Bates on the closing couple of laps.
On-form Martin P.Jones (Llandewi) swept up the Over 40's class with 13
laps, also taking a fine 3rd place overall, while Andy Prosser (Brecon)
secured runner up spot with a creditable 12 laps. Another close battle saw
David Price (Builth Wells) fend off Trefor Davies (Newtown) for third
place, Price narrowing beating Davies by 6 seconds.
The biggest class of the day saw the Will Green (Llandrindod Wells)
take the Beginners class win with 12 laps just beating off nearest rival
Ben Prosser (Brecon) by 1½ minutes. Gareth Jones (Llanelli) finished in
3rd a further 49 seconds down on Prosser, all 3 completing 12 laps. Results

Glorious sunshine greeted us at Woodberry Lane for RD3 of PMCRC Major
Hadley Trophy which was a godsend after all the rain in the previous few

faces and London Fire Brigade MCC were well represented as were the RAF

penultimate round.
Meo on his TE310 won the E2 class ahead Bozzo and Basset. This is the
second national championship won by Husqvarna this year, after the Australian
one won by Salvini with the TE250. Good performance also for Seb Guillaume
with the WR 300 he finished second on the first day, and won on Sunday.
Nambotin his strongest competitor finished 2nd on day 2.
Guillaume is on second position in the E3 class 30 points behind Nambotin
who is almost champion. Husqvarna is also in a comfortable lead in the
manufacturer's standings.

HUSQVARNA
BEST MANUFACTURER AT BAJA ARAGON ESPANA
Husqvarna was starring the latest edition of the Baja Aragon in Spain,
which took place from July 22 to 24. In fact 4 Husqvarnas (2 TE511 and TE449)
managed to finish in the top 7 position.Paulo Goncalves (TE511) finished
second behind the winner Gerard Farres, David Adria (also on TE511) completed
the podium with his third place.
The TE449 pilots Alex Busquets and David Serra finished in sixth and
seventh position. On the extremely fast and hard stages of the Baja Aragon the
TE449 and TE511 have highlighted their good qualities of stability and power.
The TE511 could have even won the race with Juan Barreda if there was not a
technical problem at the fuelpump during the second day of competition. In
fact Barreda won the first special stage of the day and was in the second
position, when he had to slow down because of the mentioned problems.

Bawn to be wild Report by Teamsnapper
Slab Common near Borden in Hampshire was the venue for Round 3 of the
Southern Centre Championship and with overnight rain (a blessing for us
photographers) as Slab when bone dry is unbearably dusty due to the sand
based ground, Dave Ryall and his posse at HPMCC/XHG Tigers set out a
good track that was nice and flowing with plenty of sand, woodland and
Tanks.... yes Tanks...Slab Common is an Army training facility and there
a multitude of old Tanks that are used for target practice etc
...however being here as an enduro rider you need to be 100% focused and
concentrated on things ahead and these Tanks don’t move when you hit
them and some of the holes/ditches/ruts these things make are in some
cases well over 6ft deep and when full of water it can be a shock lol.....
enough of my scare mongering and on with the results. Expert James Jackman to me will always be the man to beat at Slab Common as
he relishes the sand and other hazards here and he set the early pace
and with 9 minute laps he was the man in the driving seat, however at
around the hour and half mark he was forced out with damage to his
steed, not sure if someone related this to Jack Turner and Derek Bawn
who both seemed more aggressive in the latter parts of the race,
especially Derek who has a very laid back look on the bike and the
finish was so close between Jack and Derek and sometimes Jack tries too
hard and makes the odd error that probably cost him the win this time
but not to take anything away from Derek as they say consistency makes
points and points make prizes and today was top place on the podium
(well done Derek), Both did 18 laps with Jack getting fastest lap of
9.34, 3rd placed James Berrill (Honda)managed 17 laps and what an
entertaining rider to photograph J. Clubman A Well Teamsnapper rider Chris Stanger has only had form of luck this
season BAD luck with a multitude of mechanical failures aboard his ill
fated Husqvarna and the luck did not change today as “The Bitch”
Chris’s words not mine would not start on the line and was over 3
minutes behind the rest of his group..... he rode like he stole it and
to be honest it was the best i have seen Chris ride period and he did
take the lead in the class briefly...however lady luck failed again and
with the bike continually stalling he managed to bring her home in 3rd
and it took a large group of burly men to keep Chris and his box of
matches away from “The Bitch”. Bernie Macari the ever reliable
podium finisher yet again topped the podium with 15 very consistent laps
but was made to work by Iain Randall who was not quite as consistent and
not too sure if he had an incident or mechanical problem during the
race, fastest lap went to Chris Stanger 10.53. Clubman B What a race this was between winner Colin Smith and runner up Simon
Bailey and there was nothing to separate these guys out on circuit with
best lap of Colin 12.44 and Simon 12.43 and both completing 14 laps it
really came down to endurance and who really wanted it and maybe today a
bit of experience helped (sorry Colin if i am making you sound old J lol)
but it was Colin’s day and who knows what round 4 may bring ? Sportsman I thought our 3rd placed finisher had been retired but hey what do i
know.... well done to Mike Smallshaw who is a veteran and no spring
chicken at that (sorry Mike but there is no kind word for a OAP) only
kidding Mike but a great ride in tough conditions and managed 13 laps,
runner up Kenneth Ward managed 14laps and a best lap of 12.50 was enough
to keep winner James Cameron on his toes who also managed 14 laps with a
best lap of 12.24
Another great event by HPMCC and XHG Tigers and already looking forward
to round 4.
At the riders briefing i presented Dave Ryall (HPMCC) with a
presentation photo from HPMCC, his son Ashleigh and ourselves

6 Months with the 2011 HUSABERG FE570! By Steve Ireland (WOR Events Executive Director):
"I took delivery of the big 570 Berg in Mid January this year and first
impressions were how good looking and how well made the bike looked. First ride
out on the bike was a wintery trail ride from our WOR HQ base in Corwen, North
Wales, Taking in about 50 miles of icy and slippy trails that would have been
unfair to gauge any bike on, never mind one with so much power and get up and
go. Details

At first it looked like a repeat of the downpours that made the ground
sticky and tricky last year, but as the Youth flag dropped the rain
stopped, and didn't return all day. The temperatures were perfect and the
ground was firm.
The 5 mile lap was set in the three contrasting woodlands, with a tyre
section to entertain the spectators. It was a true family event, ending
the day bathed in sunshine for the awards ceremony.- Details

There had never been a time card enduro held in Turkey until September 2010
and yes it was a round of the Enduro World Championship, the one in which
Knighter won his E3 World Enduro Championship title. What a way to start! You
would be amazed at the rapid pace in which the enduro scene has increased in
popularity. The Kemer club put on a sea to sky hard enduro rally not long after
the EWC and it looks as if it will become an annual event and there is a Turkish
enduro championship now, of which the third round was held in Bodrum on 24th
April 2011. Details

Hafren
GT Wall & Sons Tarenig Rally Photo Keith Bowen
Hafren Dirt Bike club kicked of this year's rally season with the GT
Wall & Sons Tarenig Rally starting from a beautiful paddock on the
banks of the River Wye , a few miles West of Llangurig and running
through Tarenig and Myherin forests, linked up by the open moorland
which is home to a collection of giant wind turbines. The weather gods
were kind to the organisers, who had been panicking in the build up to
the event about dust problems, which is not to be expected in Mid Wales
in early May. Although light rain in the few days proceeding the event,
and a absolute downpour the night/morning before meant for near perfect
riding conditions, made even better by blue skies and sunshine all day
until about fifteen minutes after the last bike had finished and then
the heavens opened again.
Being the first event of the year a bumper entry of almost 200 riders
turned out, on a real mix of machinery, from pukka enduro bikes, to some
older almost classics, and a larger than usual turn out of big rally
bikes probably down to the re-launch of the big bike challenge this
year.
Veteran of many a rally Stephen Hauge seems to like this rally after
winning this event the very 1st year it was run in about 2006, he again
took the premier award in 2011 on his big KTM, from CCM mounted Bob
Creedy, rounding off the podium was event sponsor Mark Molineux, who had
made a last minute decision to ride his little XR650, instead of his
usual BMW 1200 as he'd been feeling a bit under the weather and didn't
think he was up to manhandling the big beemer around. Patsy Quick had a
great ride coming home 4th and best lady, especially considering she had
only flown back from the Tunisian rally 12 hours earlier.
Jonathan Williams showed everybody a clean pair of heels in the
Sports bike class on his 450 KTM winning 5 out of 6 stages, taking the
win by a healthy 40 seconds and looks like he will be the man to beat in
this class this season. Calvert Jones was 2nd on another 450 KTM, with
David Griffiths making it a KTM 1,2,3, bringing his big 530 KTM home in
3rd which was a good result considering he had to extract himself and
his bike from the undergrowth after overshooting one of tight tricky
downhill bends toward the end of special stage two.
A small beginners class was won by Jonathan Wilson, with Kev Price
and Ian Haywood 2nd and 3rd.
All in all a good weekend was had by all, with everybody now looking
forward to the Ryedale up in Yorkshire in July.
Midwest Husaberg UK team rider Alex Rockwell set off for the European
Enduro Championship round in Poland immediately after competing at the

McCanney wins Rd 1 of European Enduro Championship
ACU Under 23 Enduro Squad riders made the long trip to Poland last weekend
to contest the first round of the above Championship, and for many it was
their first taste of International competition.
Based in the modern football stadium of Kielcie in Poland, the 180 riders
entered would tackle 3 laps of 65km for each of the two days in the
surrounding countryside, with a MX and Enduro Special test on each of the
laps.
Young Manxman, Danny McCanney has been recording some impressive results on
his Gas Gas in the UK, and there was an expectation that he could be well
placed in the European Junior E2/3 class in this first round.
Not only did Danny fulfil all expectations by winning this class on both
days, he also actually won the entire event overall!
Fellow Manx rider Alex Rockwell (Husaberg) took 2nd and 3rd places in the
same class to make the podium in Junior E2/3 look like an IOM and UK benefit.
Jonny Walker (KTM) claimed 6th spot in Junior E2/3 on Day 1, and despite a
heavy fall in the MX test on Day 2 hung in there for 9th that day.
Ashley Wood (KTM) took 8th and 9th place and Lewis Belfield 1(KTM) 6th and
17th.
In the Junior E1 class, Jack Rowland (Husqvarna) is another young rider
making rapid progress and turned a very good 6th place performance on Day 1
into an even better 4th place on Sunday.
Stuart Owen (Yamaha) was on a learning curve and going really well and
despite some mechanical problems, claimed 27th place in this class on both
days.
Some Senior riders also made the trip, and another Husqvarna rider, Jordon
Rose, who is fairly new to the Enduro scene was 2nd in Senior E2 on the first
day followed by 3rd place on Sunday.
Greg Evans (KTM) who was runner up in the 2010 overall European Enduro
Championship last year, was suffering from a knee injury sustained at last
week's British Sprint Enduro, and had to settle for 3rd in Senior E2 on Day 1,
but pulled out all the stops on Day 2 to win the group, and take the top
podium spot in this class over the weekend, so again with Jordon and Greg on
the podium at the presentation, the UK were brilliantly represented.
In the Veteran class, Julian Crimp (Gas Gas) rode well and after a steady
16th spot on Day 1, improved to take 15th and a Championship point on the last
day.
As the riders, and the hard working support crews left for the long journey
home, there was a great deal of euphoria that the British effort in this round
had been superb. Results

Herefordshire
The second round of the British Youth Enduro Championship ran at
Hope-under-Dinmore, near Hereford, last Saturday. The growing popularity
of this series of events proved itself by the packed start line for both
races at this awesome venue.
As the riders drove through the picturesque village of Melplash and up
to the parking and finish area they were treated to the spectacular view
of rolling hills out to the sea. It was a beautiful sunny morning and the
ground was in perfect condition. This spectacular track offered riders yet
another style of terrain, it required some good technical riding, sorting
the men out from the boys! The track incorporated an original scramble
track from the 1960’s which had very steep decent and climb which was
all but impossible to find grip on in the early stages of the race until
the sun warmed the air and dried out the grass. This course was certainly
a fitting end to a truly great winter series. Full

Happy days at Westwood as Brewster wins!
Round 2 GNCC Westwood 20th March
The Ride XC crew unearthed a gem of a venue when they discovered Westwood
near Barnsley. The venue has just got better over the last 18 months and
Sunday's event surpassed all previous ones. The ground conditions were ideal
and in the warm spring weather for once Wellingtons were not the order of the
day! A challenging 10 minute loop had been laid out by the experienced Ride XC
track building crew led by Justin Wilson including flowing woodland trails,
stream crossings, logs, climbs and descents, parts of the motocross track, all
combining to make an excellent course for the riders to enjoy. Once again the
Ride XC team had carefully picked the choice venue for round 2 of the Grand

sometime and I have suffered misfortune on a number of occasions. So after a
poor start I found myself at the back of the field second to last!! I thought
here we go again déjà vu, but I focused and started a steady push for the
front. After half a lap I was in the lead and managed to pull 30 seconds on
Lettenbicher. But I was suffering bad arm pump which lasted for an hour, I
knew when it wore off I could go a lot quicker. In the middle part of the race
free of arm pump I found a fast flowing rhythm and pushed hard opening up a
good lead. Despite the course cutting up I was picking good lines staying
clear of trouble and fallen riders. As the race drew in the final third I
eased off and played safe maintaining a good margin over the second placed
rider until the chequered flag and victory. Once again the bike ran
faultlessly and big thanks to my team, sponsors and fans .”

under perfect sunshine and I finished 2nd behind fellow Gasgas rider Chris
Dustow. The test was 12mins long mostly in twisty woodlands with lots of
technical bits and a few grassy fields. With saturdays rain the course was
very slippery in the morning and I struggled to get to grips with the test
on the first two timed runs. Lying in third place behind chris and steve
holcombe who was also riding very well. On the third test I found myself
riding a lot more comfortably and cought and passed 4 riders before I saw
steve dustow up ahead. I tried to get out of a long rut early ready to
make a pass and slipped off on a tricky uphill losing a lot of time. This
ruined my 3rd time but I knew I could be a lot faster on the last lap
which I was puttin in my fastest time of the day just pipping steve for

One steep climb caused a little trouble on the sighting lap for the Auto

The first round of the Rock Oil AMCA British Hare & Hound Championship
took place at the infamous Shuckburgh Hall in Warwickshire. Set in a Private
Deer Park and made up of mainly woodland going with 2 flat out stubble
sections to clear out the bikes. A good turn out especially as the weather
Friday night and mostly all day Saturday saw all the hard work and planning
got out of the window. But with a lot of hard work and alterations a track was
built to suit the conditions if that was possible at this venue with its clay
based soil which can be slippery in the dry. This was also the first round of
the Cotswold Club Champs so two meetings in one and also 2 lots of points, so
three hours of traditional Hare & Hound racing In front of the riders the
first few laps saw the riders and marshals' work very hard to keep things
together in the early stages.
After 1.5 hours the track was getting better and better the racing in all
the classes was very close through out which was good to see especially with a
lot of the riders traveling long distances to compete in this genuine
Championship against new riders they have never ridden against before
A bad off at the 2 hour mark saw club regular and former Club Champion Keith
Jenkins need the Air Ambulance after a big collision with an Oak Tree. I am
glad to say Keith is now being put back together but needs a pin and plate to
mend his leg and hip - so speedy recovery and we all hope to see him soon.
Keith is a very popular rider at the Club and a big pat on the back to the
Clubs Marshalls' and the First Aid and Paramedics who handled the situation
very professionally - well done. So apart from this unfortunate incident a
very good start to the Championship. Very close racing in all the classes has
set the seal for a very competitive series. Results

took place this Sunday at Butts Quarry in some seriously boggy conditions.
With all the preparations underway to run the final round at a new

than cancelling the race altogether the decision was made to pull out all

GERMAN
CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIP GONCALVES STAYS IN THE LEAD
The 4th round of the German Cross Country Championship took place in
Goldbach in one of Germany's biggest forest areas. All riders had to struggle
with the heavy rain and muddy conditions. Problems with the clutch prevented
Speedbrain's Paolo Gonçalves finishing higher than 5th. But luckily his
strongest competitor for the championship Christian Weiss was only able to
finish in 3rd so that Paolo keeps a 7 point gap in the championship.

This was Teamsnappers first time with the well established Chiltern
Hills Enduro Club (more affectionately known as CHEC), the venue which we
have been to many times at Chawton Park near Alton in Hampshire which is a
popular venue, so i was very keen to see what sort of course CHEC would
make, Kaka and myself upon arrival introduced ourselves to the head honcho
of CHEC John James and another top official Rob Shirley who made us feel
both welcome and after some small talk i went to get changed as John and
Rob had given me permission to ride a lap or two so i could spot any good
photo taking spots.
The lap started along the well known MX track section that included a
long straight with various jumps and whoops which for us photographers and
spectators was a great spectacle for viewing this then turned into the
forest which was approx 5 miles of superb forest enduro terrain which i
enjoyed immensely that included deep ditch climbs, huge bomb holes, logs,
great forest trails, and some good fast straights for those that dare and
the going was strewn with brushwood/branches and other forest clearing
debris so a very high level of concentration needed, i have been here many
times and have to admit this was the best enduro course so far so well
done CHEC. When i got back to the van the paddock was filling up nicely
and with an entry of over 100 riders and the sun blazing down already it
looked like we had the perfect day.
CHEC run their own event which consists of 2 hrs in the morning, 1 hr
lunch break and another 2 hrs in the afternoon, however you have to use
your brain as if you run over your 2 hours whilst on track you get
penalised for every minute your late so it really is a must to see what
lap times your doing and calculate to avoid those dreaded penalties, great
format in my opinion. Experts
and overall winner was KTM mounted Gareth Hughes who was majestically
graceful all day and really is one of those very smooth and tidy riders
that even when he does make an error we are none the wiser, Gareth managed
15 laps and a best lap of 14.09 but what was so impressive is his
consistency, also on 15 laps and a best lap of 14.11 was KTM mounted Jason
Warren who again was very consistent and very much deserved to be on the
podium, however 3rd place went to Joe Dyke (Kawasaki) with 16 laps and the
fastest lap (13.49) of the experts however his over eagerness to that
extra lap was his downfall and was penalised heavy, Joe was probably the
most animated rider on circuit and loves the camera and if he could calm
down just a touch he will become a very serious contender at the highest
level. Clubman
Well the top 3 in this class should have all been in the expert class
going on lap times etc and the winner was KTM rider Mark Kirby who did the
fastest lap of the day with a 13.45 and 15 laps, Mark rode superbly and
looked happy with the conditions and course, i always pick my fave photo
of the day and award that photo (+ T Shirt) to that rider which today was
Mark so please Mark get in contact, 2nd place also with 15 laps and a best
lap of 14.43 was Husqvarna rider Ben Blackman who worked very hard for his
podium and in 3rd place Tony Beecham who with 16 laps and best lap of
14.07 should have placed higher but yet again penalised for coming in
late. Sportsman
Well i have great pleasure in writing this as my great rival and good
friend (Big J)John Anderson KTM so deserved this victory and John rides so
often and is so damn consistent it was only a matter of time he would win
and with a best lap of 16.03 and 13 laps and am sure no-one was more
pleased than myself and his wife Lesley well done John, 2nd place with 12
laps was KTM mounted Nick Comer who i believe was on a new bike and
definitely looked more confident as the laps wore down and a best lap of
16.20 however he did have a battle with the final podium placer Terry Gale
(Honda) who at times it looked he may get 2nd place and with a best lap of
16.39 but Nick was a bit more consistent in the end and earned that 2nd
place. Quads
Don't every often get to see the Quads so it was a treat for me and with 4
quads in the class it was a great spectacle and as i had ridden the course
i knew how tough it was going to be for these guys and full credit given
as it must have been bloody hard work yet the winner Nick Goode(Honda)
managed a best lap of 20 minutes which i applaud and runner up Alex
Reed(Honda) was not far behind with a 22 minute lap. Ladies
There was only the one lady rider Husaberg mounted Catherine Smith who
looked very comfortable out there and held her own against the men with
some very respectable lap times.
All results/placings above are provisional and if there are any changes i
will amend.
We both had a great day, met some lovely people and gained some new
friends and hopefully CHEC liked us as much as we liked liked them and
hopefully the riders will enjoy the photos as much as we enjoyed taking
them.

Wayne Price wins at Rhayader Evening Hare n Hounds
Competitors were greeted with a glorious summer evening for round one of
Rhayader MC Hare n Hounds series on a course featuring their moto cross
circuit and surrounding fields giving a five minute plus lap.
The Experts set the pace with local rider Marc Evans taking the lead for
the first two laps closely followed by Shaun Buchan and Alex Davies. By lap
three Davies had overhauled both Buchan and Evans and started to build a
commanding lead. By lap eight Davies' lead was coming under pressure from
Wayne Price who had worked his way through from an initial fifth place and by
the following lap was through into the lead and before Davies could fight back
he hit trouble and was out of the event by lap ten. Mean while Buchan and
Evans had swapped places and with the demise of Davies inherited second and
third places to take the flag in that order.
In the large clubman class regular visitor to Rhayader events Tom Crump
seems to be getting quicker at each event and roared away with victory with
both he and second place man Luke Williams completing 16 laps while Rob Craig
was a lap down in third closely followed by lady rider Katie Walker in fourth.
Andrew Prosser proved top man in the Over 40 class completing 15 laps two
ahead of next man Ralph Stovell while local rider Alwyn Watkins proved the
fastest in the beginner's class taking first place on 14 laps.

REME
REME
"Tea to Nearly Dark" Summer Evening Series
RD 1 at Slab Common, Bordon, 01-06-2011
What more can a working class off road motorcyclist want...... Knock off
work early, beautiful weather and conditions, like minded people the sound of
thumping 4 strokes and the smell of 2 strokes, well thats how i felt as the
Teamsnapper van rolled into the paddock at Slab Common, and what a great
welcome we had from the boys at Midwest/ REME/ KORR as well as the usual
suspects. Slab Legend REME's Tony Cotty (sorry Tony but had to say it lol) was
the man in charge of proceedings and very kindly allowed me to have a few laps
before the start to check out course and photo opportunities.
The course itself was sand and in places very deep dry sand, some great
wooded sections albeit sand, some VERY fast bits that were SAND.... have i
mentioned how sandy it was ..... joking aside the track conditions were great
and the sand was white and dry and seriously deep in places and just a tad
damp under some of the trees which made grip great in places and not so good
in others which made a great spectacle for the many spectators, there were
some great natural jumps and some tight tricky ditch climbs, a few logs and
forest like trails but what made the course complete was that it flowed, and
it flowed well, so well done to Tony and crew.
The entry list at the weekend looked a bit disappointing with approx only
50-60 riders signed up......... 3 days on and we have full event with a 100
riders including the likes of Si Wakely/James Jackman/Tyson M Jones/Aaron
Smith/Alan Keet/Jack Turner/Darryl Bolter/James Giddings/Rob Mussell (lol) etc
it was really looking like a whos who of top southern riders, the evening
series seems to bring out the karma in riders, if the paddock had been anymore
chilled we would have had a coma to deal with, was so good to see this type of
atmosphere and organisation.
The expert class started proceedings and Si Wakely took early advantage
closely followed by Darryl, the Midwest boys were all pretty close together
and at one time on the timing system there were 4 Midwest riders in top 5 but
sadly Si flattened his exhaust and retired whilst leading, young Midwest upstart Aaron Smith was
proving to be the entertainment of the evening with his balls out no nonsense
riding style and was holding a great 3rd spot until he went off track and had
problems getting going again, however he did get going eventually, then it was
Slab maestro Daryl Bolters turn of bad luck as had incident that totally
flattened his KORR KTM's front exhaust which ended his evening but as Daryl
said to me at least he was not injured, With the likes of Si and Daryl out it
was going to be the Suzuki of Alan Keet and his super fast smooth MX riding
style that won the day with 13 laps and to be fair to Alan he never looked in
danger and can always find that little bit more when needed, 2nd was James
Jackman (Midwest Husaberg) (13 laps)who rides very smooth and seems to ride so
well once he gets into a groove, 3rd was KORR KTM's James Giddings (13
laps)who this year seems to be forever on the podium and it must only be time
before he has a big win to his name this year, sadly i don't know who was 4th
but Tyson M Jones on the Midwest Husaberg was riding well and was in the top 5
most of the evening.
The expert class was a slightly tighter affair and the top 3 all on 12
laps, Darren Mason was the 3rd placed rider on the podium and had rode good
race but i did notice at one stage he seemed quite slow through one of the
wooded sections so not sure if he had problem or just taking a breather, 2nd
went to Malcolm Coles who yet again rode his bloody socks off and so close to
that elusive top spot and it will be only a matter of time before that comes
but the winner this time was the ever fast Gareth Hughes who really looked
like he was enjoying himself and he is another rider who really is having a
good season and long may it continue.
The Veteran Class had a great line up that included many top over 40
experts and it was also nice to see the ladies represented by Rally rider
Patsy Quick, the top 3 in this class are all good friends of Teamsnapper and
it was a pleasure to see such close rivalry between them although i must
mention Chris Stanger (Husqvarna) who was riding superbly and had been holding
2nd spot for a while when in the closing stages of the event he got entagled
with slower rider which ended his evening, Croydon's very own Joe Beard took
the 3rd spot and rode an excellent race but was looking a little jaded towards
the end and i can only imagine he was willing that chequered flag to be
thrown, 2nd went to PMCRC Vet champion Tom Moore who seems to get better and
better on the Husaberg 2 stroke, but the winner was the Husaberg mounted Dave
Grover whom rode well and from what i saw rode a pretty much perfect race, the
top 3 all completed 11 laps.
he Sportsman class was the biggest class of the evening with a very mixed
bag of talent and bikes, however the top spot could have been any of the top 3
as all did 10 laps and very close to each other but on this occasion the
winners laurel went to Jem Rowe, followed by a hard chasing Paul Cook in 2nd
and the final podium place went to Bradley Warton.
A superb well run event and i cannot express the fun everyone seemed to be
having out there no matter what ability or class and if you have never done an
evening REME event i can only recommend and urge you to try, they have 3 more
this year so lets make it a date eh ?

Wednesday 3rd August 6-8pm Bagshot.
The 4th meeting of the 2011 British Sprint Enduro Championship took place this
weekend near the picturesque Northampton village of Adstone. - the home of the
Endurofest.
The riders made
the most of a warm Friday afternoon to walk the lap which proved to be a lot
technically challenging than previous rounds. From the start the course
followed the edge of a couple of fields and weaved through a couple of copses
before snaking it's way in and out of a disused railway cutting. There was no
train to take the strain so it would turn into armpump. A stream
crossing would check out the electrics but the real sting in the tale was a
series of extreme sections made of logs, rocks and tyres laid out
alongside the paddock. Report &

Nick Life wins Wally Searle
Ashdown Farm Blewbury 28-05-11
Just as the Teamsnapper van arrived at Ashdown Farm the skies opened up and
we had a good 30 minute downpour which soaked into the ground very quickly and
in my opinion improved the track conditions, Peter Lawry was Clerk of Course
and allowed me 2 laps with the marshals to find some good photographing spots,
the circuit was a reversal of the last event run here by SRMCC with some
interesting twists, the starting area went straight into some woods and zig
zagged through some very tight and tricky areas that also quite cleverly
combined some of the famous wooded MX circuit of Ashdown it then opened out
into the open massive hills of Ashdown of which no matter how many times you
ride here it is a heart in mouth moment every time, the course then peeled off
towards the main farm and a small copse that was root ridden and you needed to
be wide eyed, the course then went through the concrete farm yard and out into
the big wood which was leaf ridden with quite a few hidden hazards in the
guise of small logs/branches across the track and lots of small stumps hidden
by the leaves so it was a very high concentration wood with the added tight
turns but what a great reward when you got through it as it opened up into
this open field for a 450 metre sprint into a fantastic tricky copse that was
very overgrown which made it a single bike track unless you were one of the
brave as many hidden obstacles in the overgrowth, the copse then opened back
into open field that was nice and fast and you ended up re-entering the tricky
copse from the bottom that included a very tricky root ridden climb that was
going to test the less experienced the track then zig zagged through the copse
and into some serious undergrowth that meant a lot of head ducking, as you
came back out into the open it was a flat out sprint of 500 metres back up to
the start and timing area, the complete lap was a touch over 6 miles.
My favourite for the Overall and Expert win was Jack Turner on his KTM but
that was a reporters curse as Jack rode (in my opinion) well within his limits
and looked like he was really enjoying himself without over pushing himself
and finished second to Nick Life(Suzuki) who had a good race the week before
at Shillingstone Forest and was most definitely in the groove and was visibly
fast and entertaining and most certainly was a bird in a previous life with
the air he was getting over the jumps, coming in 3rd was PMCRC champion Olly
Mayhew who actually got the fastest lap of the day and if he could be just
that little bit more consistent lap after lap he would be the man to beat.
Clubman A was a very tight affair with the top 15 all on 11 laps, fastest
Club A lap of the day was by runner up David Thomson KTM who looked more
comfortable and super smooth in the wooded enduro sections whereas the class
winner Terry Beecham KTM looked very apt on the MX sections and faster stuff,
3rd place went to Husaberg mounted Chris Pratt whom was the most consistent
rider on the podium with very regular lap times.
Clubman B had a clear winner in KTM rider Tim Stoddart with 11 laps and his
smooth riding style makes him appear slower than he is but the proof is in the
pudding and looking at his times he is Mr consistent, runner up was Cashes
Crasher TM mounted Wayne Tibbles who had the fastest lap in the class and if
he did not make so many mistakes he would have been the man to beat, 3rd went
to Yamaha rider Haydn Maller who completed 10 laps.
Sportsman/Beginners Class also had a clear winner in Gas Gas Mounted Vic
Martin who managed 10 laps and took the fastest lap in class by 60 seconds so
maybe time for class move, the other podium places went to John Brown (Husaberg)
and Roy Williams (Yamaha) respectively.
Yet again Richard Chandler and his SRMCC team put on a superb well
organised event that had a lot of smiles in the paddock which to me says it
all.
Round 4 of the Northern Counties Hare & Hounds Scramble
Championship was hosted by True Grit Off Road at MOD training ground in
Driffield, East Yorkshire. The team designed another fantastic track
adding in plenty of woodland, open straights and quarry sections. After
spending all of Friday and Saturday hammering in posts, stapling arrows
and putting out tape to mark the course, the track was all set up and
ready to go for the 3 race format over the weekend. Report

ROCK RUN FOR THOMAS.
F.A.R. Husqvarna/Rockwell Time's Jason Thomas put on a brave display of
courage & determination this weekend, as he battled with the after-effects
of a recent heavy crash, which left him with a dislocated collarbone,
compressed vertebrae,& bruised kidney's. The tough Brit salvaged a 5th
spot finish in the XC2 PRO-LITES Class on his F.A.R. Husqvarna TXC250F,at
round five of this season's GNCC Series, the Rock Run, held in Patton,
Pennsylvania. Thomas's decision to race proved a successful damage limitation
strategy, as he preserved some valuable points,& thereby still maintains a
firm grip on 2nd place in the XC2 PRO-LITES Class overall. With a four-week
break from now until round six of the GNCC series, the Motosport.com
Snowshoe, West Virginia event on June 25th-26th,Thomas knows he has bought
himself some time for his body to mend. Also, the re-scheduling of two rounds
of the GNCC series due to bad weather, means Thomas still has eight rounds
left to race, with the bulk of these after the traditional GNCC Summer Break,
so there's still a long way to go for him in this 2011 Championship. Whibley Rocks Rock Run GNCC - Details

John kerwin Dirtbike-Action writes From an organizational point of
view everything ran well over the weekend for our first BEC event as i
expected it to do with the quality of manpower we were able to draw on. The
course was typical for a northern forest, and was designed to challenge the
riders, many had never experienced this type of terrain before, the times were
just about right with only the top few riders in each class clean, months of
effort had gone into constructing the test which held up well over the two
days of competition giving the championship riders over 45 minutes of test
time. the heavy overnight rain through Saturday night and Sunday made the
conditions on Sunday harder than anticipated but we quickly adjusted the
number of laps for the expert and championship classes and altered the course
for the 040 clubman classes to get the riders home.
The feed back from the majority of the riders was excellent tough but
enjoyable was the consensus, my thanks to every one that helped especially
Mick lawrence and his crew , Mark Houson for his help on the test , and all
the Dirtbike Action crew, Nick Craige Electraction and TM for there support
and miles of tape . after this success in bringing a round country's most
prestigious enduro championship to the North of England we will certainly
apply for a round of the 2012 BEC but with a new venue kielder. Next Round - 9th/10th July - Knighton Enduro - CWAC - Regs

ASH FOX AND BEN WOOTTON GO BAR TO BAR CARROG ISAF..MOTUL RD 3 MAY 22ND REPORT: KEITH WILLIAMS
"Last Sunday at Carrog Isaf nr Corwen was definatly the race of
the season so far in the 2011 MOTUL Hare and Hound Premiership.
With 3 gruelling hours to face over the very fast yet bumpy and
demanding mountainside track, the riders faced not only big winds,
blinding sunshine, some rain and hail along with dust!! Coupled with a
course that had lots of fast open stretches mixed with tight woodlands
and some fern strewn off camber slow bits, it was always going to be
tough.

Croydon
MCC
Croydon
MCC, Ray Kennard Memorial Enduro at West Harting
Down.
I was very fortunate to have ridden a lap and did both special tests
and the course was approx 10 miles of some great forest trails and fire
roads that were very fast accompanied by some great climbs it really was
the Enduro with everything besides bogs which was nice considering some
of the winter events, the course had 2 separate special tests, the first
was extreme and was tough although had some chicken runs it was still
tight tricky with demanding hill climbs, the MX test was more flowy and
fun but the surface was loose and caught many a rider out. A very well
thoughtout clearly marked course.
I have ridden, photographed and ridden many events but this event run
by Croydon MCC has to go down as one of the best organised events and
from my angle seemed to run very smooth which i think was helped with
Croydon's no nonsense firm regime and i beleive it was Joe Beard's first
time as Clerk of Course which in most circumstances would be quite
daunting as such a big event on the calender but with such a massive and
experienced crew behind him he did great job, on a lighter side i think
all SEEC clubs should employ Peter Moller to organise the parking as
what a great traffic warden he would make.
At the briefing there were family members and friends of Ray Kennard
of which his two sons spoke about their father and make some funny
remarks to lighten the event and then Hazel (Rays Wife) and family
members helped get the event underway on the start line.
And what a line up we had in store with all classes healthily
represented.
The Championship had the likes of Aaron Poolman, Aaron Smith, Tyson M
Jones, Ollie Moyce, Dan Lawry, Dan Beaven, James Giddings, Paul Merriman
and Jack Turner....... what a line up.
Dan Lawry the number 1 plate holder led the field away, from my early
observations the pace setters who looked hungry were Ollie Moyce and
Aaron Poolman who seemed to be pushing from the off but sadly Ollie
maybe pushed too hard and had quite a high speed off which ended his day
due to bike damage and then Midwest racings Tyson M Jones had fall on
the extreme test that ended his day, Aaron Smith and Aaron Poolman were
the visible pushers through the forest trails then Aaron poolman had
puncture or front wheel problem and swapped his wheel with Tyson's in
the pits but sadly lost time which considering the company in the field
ended his day for the win, James Giddings was riding very smooth and
through the tests he was silky smooth that gave the appearance of being
slower than the more aggressive riders like Dan Beaven, Jack Turner and
Aaron Smith, next on the casualty list was last round winner Paul
Merriman closely followed by Jack Turner... the field was diminishing
very quickly and with such tight times in all classes you had to push to
avoid penalties, The ever smooth Dan Lawry seemed to up his pace as the
event was nearing the end and probably looked the most relaxed out there
and was chasing Aaron Smith until Aaron hit a tree and damaged his hand
which ended his day........ 4 riders left and as much as Aaron Poolman
pushed he just could not get back the time penalty for puncture and took
4th place, Dan Lawry took 3rd on his KTM and although i nickname him the
professor as he seems to be such a calculating rider who has that great
mental sense of points make prizes however once he got wind he could be
in for the wind he over pushed and nearly ended his day with a big
tumble on his final extreme test, 2nd went to the ever smiling Dan
Beaven KTM who really is going from strength to strength as season
progresses but the top podium and overall went to the very likeable
(albeit grumpy at times lol) James Giddings.... who in my opinion rode
the perfect race and a Kingston Mcc top 3.
Talking about perfect riding, Expert class winner Matt Brown really
showed his worth in a very highly talented field and Matt would not be
out of place in the Championship class when he rides this well and
always looked like he could up the ante if needed. The battle in this
class was between eventual runner up Swindon rider Craig Beattie and
Sidcup rider Tony Williamson who really were swapping places throughout
the day.
The Vet A class had a clear winner in Lawrence Catt who so far is having
a good season and really seems to be enjoying his riding again and for
such a big man has a great super smooth style and in my opinion is one
of the best riders to watch for "The proper way to ride enduro",
as usual the two RAF riders of Sean Davies and Paul Hearn had their
customary battle and i had my money on Paul today but that was enough to
put the mockers on that and Sean rode well for that 2nd place with a
hard chasing Paul in 3rd.
The Vet B class to me had Manny Bernardez's name all over it but yet
another DNF due to mechanical woes put an end to his day... will someone
please sponsor and supply Manny with new bike lol, but with hindsight i
think Manny would have been hard pushed to beat Andrew Sharp on this day
as rode extremely well especially on the tests and although Andrew is
quick he did look a bit ragged and on the edge today and that edge was
what gave him this impressive ride and win, The ever young legend in
Pete Lawry took 2nd place and seems so much happier back on a 2 stroke
machinery and was good to see at one stage Pete riding behind his son
Dan (Am i getting sentimental lol), 3rd went to Stephen Brooman.
Clubman A was dominated by Kingston rider Gareth Hughes who on this
day was riding at expert pace and seemed so comfortable you could see
his smiling face, 2nd went to teenage upstart and super fast George
Hayes who was having some great battles with Malcolm Coles who to me was
riding best i have seen for a while but had an off later in day and
dropped him to 4th which left the door wide open for Jamie Weller of the
RAF who was one of the best riders up some of the steep climbs on his
KTM to take 3rd.
Clubman B was won by Marc Morley Freer who since he went to the dark
side of 4 strokes (Midwest Husaberg) can hardly put a foot wrong and he
such a consistent rider that he seems to be on a crest at the moment
although was pushed visibley on the day by PMCRC rider and Guru Shane
Babey aboard the Babey racing KTM who looked more comfortable as the
event wore on, 3rd went to Ian Hill who had a great ride to fend off 4th
placed Keith Workman.
Sportsman riders were only class not to do extreme test but looking at
their MX test times i am sure some would have relished the challenge,
the class was won by Normandy rider Alexis Russell with Sidcup rider
Andrew Graham in 2nd and RAF rider Alex Leverson in 3rd.
I spoke to many riders throughout the day and all loved the course
and tests etc and if there was to be one criticism it was all the same
answer..... Stumps that they thought were a dangerous on some of the
faster stuff and were unmarked.
What a great event and with two very different special tests a 10
mile circuit in perfect weather conditions and times that were tighter
than Rob Mussell's wallet what more could one want and can only hope
next years event is as successful. I would like to mention certain
people who really made this event happen but knowing me i will miss
someone and i would not want to upset anyone so to ALL from Croydon MCC
and others who helped make this event as good give yourself a round of
applause.

The 2011 Husqvarna ACU British Sprint Enduro Championship reached the
mid point at Rogers Hill Raceway, Nr Bere Regis this weekend. A couple
of heavy showers on Friday night did little to dampen down the chalky soil or
the sense of anticipation.
The event started at 9.00am with a sighting
lap. The riders rode most of the Rogershill Mx track before diving into
a small copse with a big drop. They then crossed the valley for a fast
run along the top of the parking field, under the road, over the small
bridge and across the rape seed field to the second copse and the second
big drop. The homeward leg was a minefield of logs and tyres. Report,

North
Riding Enduro Club
Fresh Face to the Masham Challenge
The first race of the year, got off with a fresh challenge for the
experienced North Riding Enduro Club. With so many other clubs, running
their youth series around greatly reduced tracks, it was decided to give the
North Riding teenagers the full experience. After all this is an endurance
event using varied going.
They did not disappoint in enthusiasm, skill and certainly not fitness.
Only the toughest hills were cut, and everyone rode clean laps.
The winner (after an hour),Michael Gilby, showed the marshals how to
ride, completing 8 laps, with Henry Blundell on 7, closely followed home by
Dan Bewlay also on 7 laps.
The Best Youth Lady was Ellie Cooke, who completed 6 laps, with Gina
Bewlay, and Nieve Holmes also on 6 laps.
On the start line the adults were keen to start their season, with the
conditions in the mature private woodland, warm dry and perfect for a true
woods XC event.
All the classes were well supported, showing this is a series, for all
disciplines. The course had flowing lines with some steep climbs, relished
by competitors and the many spectators. The steeper hill, had a hard, medium
and soft option, the penalty losing track length.
Champion of the event went to Graham Jarvis on the Husaberg 300. He
showed yet again his ability to cut through the field, with apparent ease,
completing 12 laps. Runner up Tom Healy completed 11 laps. The Expert podium
was topped with 11 laps won by Graham Gowland.
The O40 class saw Martin Atherton getting the better of Mark Houson, all
the podium completing 10 laps.
Everyone reported a great day, promising to be at the next NREC NE-XC
event at Thorpe Nr Bedale, on Sunday the 5th of June. The next NEEC event,
will be the Langdale Enduro, on the 8th of May. This is a time card event
through pine forest, using a 20 +mile lap. If you haven't experienced forest
riding on this scale yet, this is your opportunity to get amongst the big
woods.

SEEC round 3 at Blackwood
A huge amount of effort went into this course, over 10 miles of very fast
flowing circuit in the forests of Hampshire throw in a few very big bomb
holes, a boogy bit, a very tight single track, woops and a special test
and you have it all..... personally this has been my favourite course all
year.
The organisation was very slick as signing on and scrutinering went
very well and smooth with no big queues. The only downside was only one
rider in the Championship class which was Teamsnapper rider Simon Beken
despite no pressure he was still one of the fastest on the special tests
and obviously took a class win in his very relaxed style.
Expert Class was won by Phil Maltby who had it all his own way and was
never really pressured but a great result by the two Swindon MCC riders
Craig Beattie and Neil Ashton who finished 2nd and 3 rd respectively.
Veteran A Class was won by Reading MCC rider Joel Mitson who had to
work very hard to keep runner up David Stokes at bay and both of them were
awesome through the tests with Joel taking fastest time of the day, Paul
Hearn who was very consistant on the special tests got 3rd but just lacked
the speed of top 2.
Clubman A was won by super teen George Hayes(KTM) who really is coming
into his own this year and would have been second in expert class due to
his special tests, runner up went Aldermaston Nomad rider Ashley Stokes
followed by Brad Mair (Maico) in 3rd, also a great battle for 4th between
team mates LFB riders Ian Judkins and Matt Alexander whom were seperated
by such a slight margin but Ian took the last podium place.
Veteran B Class which could have been won by any of the top 3 as so
close and came down to the odd second here and there on the special tests,
ironically they all hail from Croydon MCC in 3rd was Michael Stradwick
followed by my good friend Chris Stanger (Husky) and the winners podium
went to Ian Pearce.
Clubman B Class a great class win for Sidcup rider Alexander Bayne
Powell who excelled in these conditions and the special test was his
forte, runner up went to Marc Morley Freer on his Midwest Husaberg who had
trouble getting his beast going but once she fired he had a trouble free
ride, Paul Todd from TBEC took 3rd with LFB rider Zadde Alassad in 4th..
Sportsman Class was a case of usual Suspects again with Big John
Anderson taking 3rd on his KTM, Stephen Hall from SCEC taking 2nd and
another win for RAF rider Brett Moore whose special test times put as top
Clubman B rider, well done Brett.
I really think this was so enjoyed by all riders as seemed such a buzz
at the end and yes it was a lovely day with good course and great club
management and i think i can thank Kingston and District MCC from all who
entered.

James Giddings wins the Chairman's Chase
South Reading MCC held at Ashdown Farm, Blewbury near Oxford Report by Teamsnapper
The course was nearly 6 miles and started off down a whoopy long
dropping field which then turned into a 6th gear flat out climbing flat
field (was very fast), then a sharp left into a dense single track wood
which was very rutty and whoopy in places it also had a couple of climbs
and drops which caught alot of riders out, it then opened out into a
meadow that had some massive badger holes which were blind until you were
on top of them and for first couple of laps there were a few over the
handle bar moments as very quick meadow, that went into a very loose
flinty climb and across another flint field which again was top gear flat
out and then stamping on the brakes to another tight wooded section which
was not as dense but strewn with leaves, roots and many logs and needed a
lot on concentration, this came out into Ashdown Farms main yard and
access road which again was very fast, this then dropped down into a very
tight small rooty tricky section which opened out into the famous Ashdown
MX circuit (Bottom section)which has massive (Scary) climbs and drops and
very much heart in the mouth stuff this then climbed into some very tricky
woods and onto the top MX circuit which although dry it was very slippery
and saw many riders come off and the ground was very hard indeed the last
bit of this superb course was a winding fast trail like ride through the
trees into a small meadow and back to timing pads, it really was a course
that had everything and a very well thought out course.
Expert Class A great battle between James Giddings (KTM) and Jack Turner (KTM) and
due to their different strategy of pit stops it was really hard to judge
which one was leading and both finished with an amazing 14 laps apiece
with James taking victory and the fastest lap of the day (12.53), third
went to Gary Sims back on 12 laps .
Clubman A A three way battle here(12 laps apiece) throughout the event with top
honours going to KTM mounted Gareth Hughes followed by Stuart Jackson (KTM),
third place and fastest lap in class(14.08) went to Dan Heelas who seemed
to excel on the MX sections.
Clubman B
The biggest class of the day and a runaway winner in Simon Nunn (Yamaha)who
did 12 laps and got fastest lap (14.55), runner up spot went to Husky
mounted Cliff Barnett and third place to the ever present tall man from
Staines Keith Workman on his KTM.
Sportsman
The top 5 in this class all managed 11 laps and were all so very close to
each other, fastest lap going to 5th placed Simon Paul (15.38), The
victory went to Paul Duffy (Kawasaki) runner up to Vic Martin and last
podium spot went to Honda mounted Stewart Liming, a special mention for
4th place as it was Rich T from Teamsnapper who had an excellent ride and
due to his inability to finish events had the biggest cheer of the day.

INA TV Racing Team have ambitious plans for the new season - Details
What a great day for racing with beautiful sunshine! There was new
track excitement at Saints Well with new sand whoops and ski jump. The
track started damp with However the beautiful sunshine dried out the track
after practise to create excellent racing .
In the juniors Ryan Rowland’s was on top from today flying around the
track with three wins throughout the day! Harry Edmondson was never far
behind riding really well over the tabletop regardless of becoming caught
up at the start in race 3, never phases young Harry. Billy Jones had a
good ride again today for 3rd place overall. A good battle between Iwan
Roberts and Harry Edwards. Good riding from our Morgan Walters and Elis
Orchard in the auto’s riding the fall length of the track with the
juniors!
Inter 85 Small and Big Wheel rode together and there was absolutely
fantastic racing from Jack French who flew round the track to take all
three wins, but not far behind and the leading the small wheels Alex
Walton showing outstanding form all day! A good ride from Kairon Watkins
and Keiron Green taking 2nd and 3rd places in the big wheels. Well done
for fantastic consistent riding from Tamara Morgan in the big wheels.
Taking second place in the small wheels Ieun Morgan and not far behind Joe
Cadwallader with third.
Exciting racing from the seniors , with very tight battles between Dan
Griffiths, Sam Barrington and Shane Dalley. Top in the 250 4stroke class
Adam Morris showing outstanding form around the track ! Finishing second
overall Adam Evans. Shane Slatcher particularly impressive riding today
especially in the third race, keeping Adam Morris on his toes! Ryan
Nicholls took the overall win in the 125’s giving an outstanding racing
performance pushing hard battling Tanisha Thomas and Shane Dalley.
In the adult groups, Charley Evans on the Cliff Walton & sons 150
came out on top taking all three wins dominating the pack quickly and
maintaining a good lead . Top of the 250f’s number 44 Gareth Hughes
riding well all day. Jonathan Evans after a struggle in race 1 found form
taking maximum points in race 2 and 3. In the open group Tim Forman took
the wins putting pressure on Charley Evans early on in the races. Jason
Rowlands showed some great pace thorough out the day finishing 2nd in his
class and also impressed the crowd over the tabletop with some Jason
style. Rhayader’s own (Cubby) Chris Price had some great starts leading
the pack on race 2, but some bad luck left him drinking tea and eating
biscuits at the finish line, better luck next round Cubs.
In summary a great days racing thanks to all who participated in the
day including all marshals, St Johns and committee members. See you all
for round 3 which is also the first round of the welsh championship,
please call Hayley Walton to book in.

2ND
GNCC podium for F.A.R. Husqvarna's Jason Thomas.
F.A.R. Husqvarna/Rockwell Time's Jason Thomas made his 2nd trip up onto
the GNCC XC2 PRO-LITES Podium this weekend with an impressive 3rd spot
finish at Round 2 of this season's series, the Maxxis General, which was
held at Aonia Pass, Washington, Georgia. Racing the increasingly
impressive Husqvarna TXC250F, Thomas absorbed the punishment inflicted by
a major 1st lap crash, which could easily have ended his day, but exploded
his Camel-Back in the process, leaving him without hydration for the rest
of the race. By the mid-point of the 3 hour event, Thomas, who, along with
the Fred Andrews race team, has done much to raise the profile of
Husqvarna's Off-Road capability Stateside in recent GNCC events, had
worked his way back up to 4th place,& managed to continue with his
charge for the remainder of the event, grabbing 3rd spot with a lap left
to go. Jason & the F.A.R. Husqvarna team will be back in GNCC action
over the weekend of March 26th-27th,at Round 3 of the 2011 series, the FMF
Steele Creek event, which will be held at Morganton, North Carolina.

Police @ Bagshot - Results Report & Photo by Richard Troth
What a cracking course set out by Surrey Constabulary MCC, i have been
to Bagshot many a time but this course was really well thought out and as
usual with SCMCC the times were very tight...in fact too tight was the
word round the paddock..... the proof was in the pudding as they say as i
am sure (not 100%) but everyone had a time penalty somewhere.
I myself rode 2 laps (Not bad for old boy) and it was tough, some mega
climbs and drops with some very tricky trials like bits and as usually
with Bagshot the fast fire roads and narrow in field forest bits which
were a nightmare for the faster riders to get past the slower ones. Report

were plenty of them getting some much needed pre event practice in - however
the boys with enduro experience gradually made their presence felt as the 3
hour race gradually took its toll on the fast starters... Details
